Beta 0.1.1
PPUX is a desktop NES graphics editor for working directly with ROM art data and custom project layouts.
It lets you browse CHR and ROM graphics, edit pixels, build static art and animation layouts, manage palettes, and work with ROM-backed views such as OAM animations, PPU frame windows and more. The goal is to make NES art iteration practical without losing control over the original game data.
PPUX supports:
- CHR Banks and ROM Banks source windows
- Static Art and Animation windows for tiles and sprites
- Global palettes and ROM-backed palette editing
- OAM animation windows
- PPU frame windows for ROM-backed screen data
- Lua project files for custom workspaces and game-specific setups
The app is still in active development, but it is already usable for real project work and game-specific editor setups. More info here.

the program seems to constantly try to minimize and maximize itself. it calms down if i focus another window but it won't let me use it beyond loading a rom. restarted the computer, but haven't tried it on another computer.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Thanks for the report, and sorry to hear you're having issues! This is very strange, I tested in 2 different laptops with 2 different versions of windows but cannot reproduce yet.
Also, the only way to minimize the app is either by the user or via this, but I'm not calling that API anywhere (not even on the E2E testing module).
So this makes me think this is very likely an external thing messing with the app, maybe the antivirus or similar? Then again, that usually closes apps/processes, they don't just minimize stuff. So yes, when you have a min to test, please let me know if this happens in another windows computer. Edit: a word.
Edit: Just updated the page/app to 0.1.1 btw (did it on GitHub but forgot to update in here). This probably has nothing to do with your issue tho, it's just some minor tweaks here and there, not related to the app's window.
Hey, since you make sexy girls and even some adult games from itch , i wonder if you make another stripping game with nude girls or at least a nudist girl visual novel. Maybe a beach stripping game where you beat girls in bikini into naked ones.
Already answered your DM in Reddit but yeah, I am currently not working on lewd games. It's in my to-do list tho (next one will probably be a puzzle NES-compatible game, I can tell you that)
Updated to 0.0.8, added a dev log too.
Updated to 0.0.7, mostly just some new painting tools + minor fixes.
So, do you have a planned licence for the program's source code? Or is it planned to be source-available proprietary software?
Yes, it's CC non commercial (forgot about that for a moment, thanks for the reminder)
