Abstract Audio Jam

Abstract Audio Jam is a music-focused jam dedicated to experimental and non-traditional sound creation.

Participants are invited to create abstract audio works, free from conventional musical structure. Melody, harmony, rhythm, and song form are optional — or can be deliberately avoided. The focus is on texture, space, timbre, atmosphere, and sonic experimentation.

This jam is open to composers, sound designers, and experimental artists of any level.

Core Theme: Abstract Audio

Create sound that feels abstract to you. Examples include (but are not limited to):

• Non-harmonic or atonal sound
• Cloudy, unstable, or noisy textures
• Static or slowly evolving soundscapes
• Glitch, spectral, granular, or generative elements
• Sound without narrative, or with an abstract emotional arc

If it breaks traditional musical expectations, it belongs here.

Rules

• Submissions must be original audio works
• Any DAW, software, or tool is allowed
• AI tools are NOT allowed (you can make artwork with tho)
• One submission per participant or team
• NSFW content is not allowed

Submission Format

• Upload your audio on itch.io
• External links are allowed (SoundCloud, Bandcamp, YouTube, etc.)
• Include a short description explaining:
  • Your concept or approach
  • Which optional theme option (if any) you selected
