Tales of Wocdes: The Silver Protector

Tales of Wocdes: The Silver Protector is a high fantasy interactive fiction made in Twine. During the story, your protagonist will change from a helpless child to a Silver Protector, an elite warrior and protector. In time, you may wield powerful magic, or be a master of the blade.

The game is in early development. All content is subject to change.

There is something on tumblr. There is also now a ko-fi page. As well as a webpage: https://talesofwocdes.neocities.org

Demo version

The current demo contains a prologue (~5500 words) , an interlude (~6000 words) and chapter 1  (~32000 words), a second interlude (~12000 words),  Chapter 2 (~ 48 000 words), Interlude ??? (~1000), Chapter 3 (~83 350 words) and Interlude: In Between (~11 000) and a one year anniversary Sheo interlude (~7000 words). The prologue and interlude have a limited amount of choices. Chapter 1 has a lot of choices. The second interlude has no active choices, but is somewhat affected by choices in Chapter 1. Chapter 2 is focused on character customization, and therefore has a lot of choices. Chapter 3 has plenty of choices too, focused on a tour of the place you find yourself in.

Total words ~ 205 000. The word counts include all branches from choices and code inside the text.  Old saved games are not guaranteed to work for new updates.

Bonus content: access from the main menu to gain access to Tales From the Past ~ 48 700 words, and Ebb Of Silence ~ 5100 words.

There is also something like ~50 k words of snippets on the blog page.  If that is too much scrolling a pdf collection is available through kofi for supporters.

Premise

Wocdes is a world full of magic, monsters, and secrets. No beings in this world embody all three better than the Ancients,  godlike in power and unbeatable in battle. Incredibly wise and compassionate. Incredibly terrible and cruel. Immortal and glorious. Petty and vengeful. Or so the stories go.

Not that you know the stories. Why would you? You are a child kidnapped for unknown purposes.  You barely know anything about yourself. Your life is one of pain and suffering at the hands of people you do not know.

In a moment of desperation, a plea leaves your lips. Or perhaps it is only in your mind. Unexpectedly something hears you and will never ignore a broken child alone in the dark asking for help. You are saved but you are permanently scarred by your experiences. Given into the care of the newly created Orphanage of Firgrat, here is where your journey truly begins. How will you cope with your past and current reality?  Can you survive the cruel world of Wocdes, the weight of your trauma? Can you help others survive? Can you grow up, make friends, learn to love, and become a real person again?

What to look forward to

In this game, you will (eventually) be able to:

  • Customize your character, from their appearance and gender (male, female, non-binary) to their abilities and personality.
    • Admittedly, your characters emotional development has taken a bit of a hit due to recent events, leaving them a bit confused in general about... everything.
    • You can add elements of fantasy races to your character's appearance, such as a tail, wings, pointy ears and many more.
  • Discover why you were kidnapped, eventually.
  • Protect those you feel deserve it, become stronger for yourself or to protect others.
  • Grow up alongside other orphans and kids from the city, journey through childhood at the orphanage and the surrounding city, to adulthood with responsibilities.
  • Develop your relationships with your fellow orphans and other companions, maybe even get into a romance.
  • Speaking of romance, the author aims to offer an option to be completely and utterly dense about romance, like completely oblivious to the degree people worry about you. Or maybe you will be a smoother operator.
  • Go on adventures and missions, both innocent and not, in an original fantasy world full of magic, wonder and cruelty.

Characters

Primary

  • The twins Atru (m) and Azha (f): The original inhabitants of the orphanage and the only children already there when you arrive. Both twins have short blond hair and green eyes. Atru is a seemingly silent emotionless boy who clings to his sister Azha. Azha is a little girl shaped ray of sunshine and well-meaning mischief. And chatter!
  • More characters will be filled out later. A bit more info is available on the blog

Secondary

  • Havard (m): The head custodian of the Orphanage. A father figure to all the children. His duty is to guide the children, and it is a duty he takes very seriously.
  • Lexia (f): The Silver Protector in charge of you. Young, excitable and strong. One of the first to be chosen for the new elite order called the Silver Protectors.
  • Alessa (f): The custodian in charge of the twins. A sweet young somewhat shy woman who the twins adore, both in their own ways.
  • Sandor (m): The Silver Protector in charge of the twins. A good-natured and somewhat shy young man often trailing after the twins with a fond look.

Known issues

  • It seems that on mobile, the choices at the end of a page will simply not be visible (at least on my phone) if a few empty lines is not left in the Twine file after the choices. I have tried to remember to always do this, but do let me know if there are any instances of this.
  • Spacing between paragraphs needs to be done by hand. Coding counts so if I forget to put in the right commands, the spacing can be off.

with the fox ears, it mentions you might be a kitsune, will that develop later or will you be locked as beastkin?

(+4)

Should be a thing... eventually :D Once we get there.

Lol ofc you would know ur no better than them bruh chat gpt is AI too and I'm not saying I use it because its so easy not to but your just hating at this point because alot of people use it

(+1)(-7)

What are you even projecting about rn? I don't like the writing style of AI and even still, I gave it a fair chance and didn't enjoy it. You don't have to take it personally when people don't like something you like my guy.

Are you the creator? It's not the official acc but you talk as if you are

(+2)

Can I ask why you think that? I know detectors aren't known to be that reliable, but the one I used was able to identify actual AI text and called the parts of this work I put in to be human made so I'm not sure. I'm assuming you saw specific patterns?

(1 edit) (-13)

Yes and I'll add context here. I used to be pretty into chatbots before I learned the perils of AI and the theft that occurs for it to be able to produce these types of stories. I also read a decent amount of old fantasy books, the kind that give AI that general writing style.

To me if feels pretty obbious just reading the prologue that it's at least written with the help of ai with some of the more obvious and repetative patterns removed or reworded. If people enjoy that it's their prerogative but its personally annoying to search for these types of games with the no ai tag and still find them which is why I left my original comment.

(+3)(-8)

In an attempt to be fair and objective I decided to give the game another try. Starting from the prologue I still think it was written with help from AI, but the interlude and the bit of ch.1 I've made it to are almost completely without those same patterns. Idk what changed but interlude and ch.1 feel like a well written human made story. I feel no shame in admitting I could be wrong and since I can't be sure I will delete my original comment. I also offer an apology to the author if this story was made 100% without ai writing.

(+1)

I think it's more that there are moments in the story where it feels generic (so to speak) compared to other games I've seen, like Shepherds of Haven or When the Twilight Strikes, but even so, ToW is excellent in my opinion

(2 edits) (+4)

"*If* this story was made 100% without AI writing". For an artist or writer, as in human ones, this is a *devastating*, possibly career/education ruining accusation. The constant paranoia this whole mess has cultivated, where writers have to change up their own writing styles to avoid seeming too much like the thieving robot that's copying *them*, is honestly tragic. You're throwing around wild speculation right now, and with a seriously *insulting* accusation like this, likening the work of actual people to a soulless machine that steals from them, you better come with hard proof before just throwing stuff like this around just based on a "maybe" or "vibes". You are part of the problem, and discourage talented creators from sharing their work. Instead of offering a too-little-too-late apology after the fact, you should instead think before you speak, and ensure your claims are solid.

(+7)

I NEED the next major update 🙏🙏🙏 this is a tragic masterpiece and I can't stop rereading! Thank you for your diligence and keeping us all fed with these short stories in the meantime 💖

(1 edit) (+4)

I love this interactive fiction SO much. I think about it frequently. It's so wonderful and lovingly crafted. I love how the author is diligently updating this wonderful work, bit by bit, even if it is a bit slow going. I'll wait patiently for as long as it takes, because I can tell the author has as much passion for their work as I do, and there aren't many interactive fics quite like this one. I love how responsive the author is with updates and taking criticism and bug reports!

(+5)

nooo, the demo ended right before meeting the twins! I was so excited to befriend them! 🥲

(+7)

This is one of my favorite IF projects on this site, but that said I am utterly incapable of stopping my brain from going "wocDEEZ NUTS" every time I read the title XD

(+2)

Incredible, gorgeous, heartbreaking, hilarious. Love all of the characters and how unique and real they feel... they are written with such expressive individual voices and their internal monologues tend to be hilarious. Completely obsessed with Azha and Atru!

Player choices and (unusually cool) customizations are so flawlessly well-integrated into the subsequent story, making MC feel incredibly real and immersive (incredibly delightful that the wings aren't just decorative, for example).

The writing is stunning and exceptionally witty, and it feels very natural despite the obvious, thoughtful intentionality behind it. I laughed frequently and cried a bit less frequently (and had at least one moment where I genuinely couldn't tell which one I was doing). I also found it really powerful to hear both sides of many interactions, either by experiencing them from multiple characters' perspectives or by how the adults reflect on their interactions with the kids.

I've been playing a lot of text-based games recently, and this one has been by far the most impactful and interesting. Bold, powerful darkness and pain, and perhaps even bolder, and more powerful light, humor, and kindness. I'm very excited to continue this tale!

(+2)

I'm crazy about text-based games, and this one is undoubtedly the best I've ever played. The story is very well written, with a lot of potential, and the author isn't afraid to create a cruel story about children (it's so well written like yes child could be traumatized and have a cruel past; not everything is rosy when you're a child), and the effect is so realistic, even in the way a child react to trauma or think. Special mention for the programming: the author has done an incredible job, every choice has an impact on the story, you choose to break something in the first chapter and a character talk about it in the last chapter. I love love love this game, please never stop writing

(+1)

I absolutely loved this demo. I'm eagerly waiting for more:)

(+9)

Wow this demo really stole my heart, I just finished my first playthrough and can't wait to play again. I love how customizable the main character is, and the different approaches and reactions to dealing with/recovering from trauma felt refreshing because they were so realistic, unlike most games where things are just brushed under the rug after a character gets 'saved'.

It's hard to see the MC, especially as a child, go through so much but I think this is the most accurate and well done depiction/handling of trauma responses I've ever seen in a game and it's so appreciated. I love all the NPCs too, they're already so fleshed out and it's genuinely a little healing seeing how much they care about the MC and try to help them. I grew so attached to my MC that I almost cried when he got cookies and was happy for the first time. I wasn't too sure about Lexia at first but by the end of the tour I just wanted to hug her and thank her for giving the MC the opportunity to have all those experiences, and she's probably my favourite character now. I can't wait to see more about the twins too, I can already tell I'm going to love their characters the most.

The setting is also really intriguing, I love fantasy and from the ancients and the interesting magicks to the mystery surrounding the mc this world just feels so full of lore, I can't wait to see more of these characters and this wonderful world.

(+11)

Usually, I like doing custom names for IFs but having an NPC name you is rather nice. That was a treat. That and I wanted more angstttt. To make both the caretakers and me tear up in horrible sadness but also feel so much warmth when the wholesomeness arrives. Also, I want to say how delighted I am that we are going 100% into the grandpa term haha! I wish nothing more than for the children to call them grandpas and grandmas haha.

I really enjoyed reading this. I wasn't expecting us to stay long with the current time but I was surprisingly delighted going through it cos it meant getting to know both the NPCs and the MC themselves. (And also horrifying them with MC's totally innocent questions >:3c) It definitely allowed one to customize them as much as one could from giving them a relatively okay 8 in the scale of fucked up to just going 20 haha. You can probably tell which ones I picked from the way I commented on this. Legitimately, I honestly liked that you didn't hold back in the awful and sordid details. They were horrifying and not at all fun to go through but it helped understand the anger everyone feels and the love these protectors wish to give to the poor children. I'm awkward with kids myself but I swear, even I would take the oath to protect and love these poor babies!

Also, I really liked that you allowed custom mythical forms on the MC. I've always been so delighted in being able to just customize MCs to that point. And being able to use your tail is awesome! I can't wait what those choices mean in the future--the whole being more beastlike, dragonlike or demoniclike, etc.

I really like where this is going and I wish for nothing more in life than to learn more of this world and the adventure that our MC will embark in the future. You made such a cruel yet fascinating world and I am salivating for more!

(2 edits) (+4)

Same on the name thing. I like how its random from a set of name, but the first name he gave my MC was Ash and I felt it was perfect for my dragon blooded boy.

And yes...that is not an Ancient. That is grandpa. xD

(+1)

This is great, I have read alot of IF and this is up there imo. I greatly look forward to seeing where this goes.

(+1)

Hello. Even though English isn't my native language, I really appreciate your writing. I'm currently working on my own game (not an interactive novel), and I'd like to ask you to write the script and dialogue, if possible. For money, of course. Is that possible?

(+1)

Loving this game!!!

(+1)

I like this very muchness 😙 Can't wait to meet the twins 👭

(+2)

I just wanted to comment and say this if is literally my favorite EVER its taken 1st place in my heart over anyother and i keep coming back to replay it! I cant even put into words how immersive, heartwrenching, and well written it is! And i adore the customization and personality stats! You really can make the mc your own character and dictate their behavior down to every small thing. I wait with baited breath for the next chapter ❤️ can't wait to really start a friendship and such with the twins and just explore this trauma and healing more

Very interesting game. I am Twine dev too, I would like to discuss some things with You - please contact me on marekzegarek77777@gmail.com.

(+1)

Just finished the demo. Wow, I am really happy I stumbled across this, it's really really good, I'm very excited to see where the next chapter takes things

Show post...

This one is a change of pace, the dark themes are a huge change... very compelling.

(+6)

I have not finished what the game has to offer just yet, and I never comment, but, I wanted to say my piece.

This is my favorite IF ever. And I mean, EVER. I have, as someone with situational mutism myself, never, EVER seen a game where MC can be mute (at least by anything other than, for instance, also being deaf, or something physically being wrong And there's nothing wrong with that! But, as someone who has situational mutism, I dare say representation is lacking OR I have not come across it yet until now!). Of course, when the option arose, I HAD to choose it. It means so much to me that the option is there to not (be able to) talk, and Havard's reaction...

Which, speaking of him, I LOVE him. With all my heart, I adore Havard. His reactions, his care to the child, this is all so precious and comforting. I am also very curious and keen on and about the Ancient One that saved us, especially since it was hinted that he cared about us, extra. I wonder if we might meet him again! The twins. Oh, gosh. Where do I begin with the twins? The interludes had me laughing 'til I was wheezing. They are so wholesome and Azha is so funny. Every adult and their care and treatment of the children is so dear.

And that is another thing. Being able to play as a child, well, it never happens, at least not for a long time aside from a short and brief childhood segment or flashbacks of the same length. It is so fun to me to play as children, and, as another commenter pointed out, you do a fantastic job writing them. It really feels like children! Not to air my laundry or trauma dump, but let's just say that finally being able to play as a child is very near and dear to me! And, in this way, even if MC grows up, I will at least have felt as if I shaped them and saw them grow up. There is no better way to get attached to an MC!

Now, I don't want to dive deep into my own psyche, as I said, to avoid trauma dumping, BUT, I will say, I ADORE the trauma coping stats, the personal stats, the relationship stats, and most of all, your (MC's) reactions to everything. It is incredibly sad, yes, but also realistic, and it leads to many, many bittersweet and wholesome moments! (Yes, I am hugging Havard at every moment that I can. Why do you ask?) This writing, these stats, and the realistic ways of portraying and implementing them (I'm assuming MC trusting Havard without you inputting anything is if you choose repeatedly to trust him) are extremely comforting to me. Whilst I'm not going for the options myself (maybe in a future run) I must also praise and thank you for not shying away from portraying trauma so raw and true, like the self harm options. (And thank you for putting a trigger, too!)

This is getting so long, I apologize. I have much more to say, but I will wrap it up because I WILL keep talking forever.

In short, I have found myself emotional with this IF. I have cried and had to pause and within the same five minutes, laughed until I wheezed. I love the characters, I love the story, the setting, the stats and the choices. But most of all, I love MC and how you can shape them. And again, thank you for including a mute option! I cannot wait to see the story develop and go on, and will definitely be keeping a very close eye on this work! Here's to many more years and healing and perhaps adventures with MC and the cast.
Also, I am very normal about this IF ;).

PS: Why have I stopped playing for now? I am giving way too much deep thought about the four cool features I will have. Currently on an elvish demon with elemental heritage, but hesitating between cool black eyes and awesome horns.

Now, off I go to check out your other works that some comments mentioned. :D

(+1)

Thank you for making such a comment! Made my day, and I am very happy you are having a good time so far! I hope it continues until the end of the current content!

The "other work" I think is just "Tales From The Past" that is accessed through the main menu, it is currently a Havard backstory (in progress) so it has no choices...

Again, thank you for the heartfelt comment, it was a delight to read from my end :D

(+1)

You are very welcome! I can tell a lot of care and an insane amount of work goes into this work, which I truly appreciate, so I shall wait patiently for new content... just as soon as I decide what my heritage is going to be, haha! Oh, well, I see myself replaying with various heritages, actually! I also cannot wait to learn more about Havard, in that case, then. :D

Take care!

(+2)

I so so so agree with your comment!!!

(+6)

After 400 cycles, 8482 "turns" of pain and suffering, it has been done. I have maximally traumatised this child. They physically cannot have worse coping mechanisms.

If a normal MC spent 4 years drifting in and out of the void, this little girl has experienced 1600 years of torment. All before Harvard could introduce himself

How did I do this?

I noticed about few months ago that if you said no to Sheo back in the prologue and went back to the title screen, when you start a new game you would retain any stat changes. The first choice of the game changes some of your stats by 1%.

Of course to increase all your coping mechanisms to 100%, it would take an incredible number of cycles of the prologue, 400 to be exact. So I did that. Still there is no choice to increase the middle coping mechanism, it needs a different strategy.

Luckily, in our meeting with Harvard, we can pick the middle coping mechanism and decide to... taste our tongue, so to speak. This option instantly sends it to 100%, along with the choice to go back, keeping MC alive, but retaining their unhealthy coping mechanism.

Please don't do this yourself, at least not by hand. It took me over three hours. Also please don't patch this out, I very much like this featureI wonder what that says about me.

Uhh, anyways, I love this game so much, I don't mind the glacial pacing, and the kid's reactions are so natural and saddening. Poor MC, hopefully they'll get healing eventually.

(+6)

Well that is some dedication :D I feel flattered and a bit disturbed.

On a serious note, thanks for the praise! I will not be patching that one out... Let's call it a feature rather than a bug :D

(1 edit) (+3)

Amazing game! Love everything from the characters to the customizations to the choices. And honestly, I feel like most IFs don't do incredible jobs at writing children (I don't imagine it's easy at all), but thankfully that's not the case with this one. Just curious on if any major updates will come out just before the year ends. Thanks for making such a wonderful game!

(+3)

Hey! I think I already commented on this game but here I am again because this deserves another comment, I love all the customization available and the part with potentially being speech averse, I wanted to add that it would be cool if the option to talk would remain available and the the mc can learn to feel safe and talk with everyone, in any case thank you for this amazing game I've been playing it since the release and  I LOVE it!!

(+1)

Thank you very much :D Always happy to hear from readers! And the customization was a pain to make but I am very happy it is being appreciated :D

For the talking comment, I think there is some kind of explanation about my current plans in FAQ: https://talesofwocdes.neocities.org/faq

(+2)

MAN this looks really cool! cant wait to play the full finished game <3

I really like what you’ve built — great work!
I’ve also created a product called TWT Community, which helps people quickly build their own communities.
Maybe there’s a chance for us to collaborate sometime?

(+1)

"Gently, the man lifted your tiny form fully into his arms. As if you were some previous thing" think its supposed to be precious not previous?

Indeed :D Thanks!

(+2)

One of the best IF for customization! I love havard backstory, and I am already enamored by the twins. Can't wait for ch.4 !

(+2)

This is the best demo I've played ever. Words cannot describe the way this made me feel.

(+3)

Great demo! I love Havard and Lexia and can't wait to have more interactions with them. The customization options are great, and I love the variety of choices. Looking forward to reading more!

(+9)(-1)

As an avid fan of this sort of media, I feel comfortable calling this maybe THE best demo I have ever played. An astounding 10/10, an experience I was genuinely hooked on and emotionally invested in. Excited to see more!

(+4)

Very interesting.

(1 edit) (+7)

Ohhh, a possible Ancient throuple? Nice, very nice.

(+2)

(+1)

Hello! I just wanted to point out an error in spelling (I hope that isn't annoying), I thought you'd rather know than to just continue on? Unless you already noticed. In Chapter 3 with Ethel and Havard:
"Ethel nodded. She seemed to consider this a perfectly normal reaction. All thighs considered, it could have gone a lot better."

I don't know if you fixed it already, but I just wanted to let you know. Have a good timezone!

Thanks! I have fixed it for whenever the next update is :D

(+1)

You're welcome! Can't wait for more! <3

(1 edit) (+1)(-2)

So I know that deadline is kinda the murderer in any creative project, but I still would like to know if you at least have a planned release date for the full release and how close are you to finish at least writing the whole thing. The story is quite good so far as it goes and I'd like to know more about when I will get to see the rest of it. And, obviously I'd like to thank you for your good work.

(1 edit) (+1)

Thanks!

The story is being actively written (as the devlog shows), some days more than others. All on my free time and for fun. Currently, I have a bit of C4 and that is it.

Please see this post: /itch/vepsas/tales-of-wocdes-the-silver-protector/devlog/1007501/recap... For some thoughts I have about how the writing is going.

I have no DL, but I will be honest, it will be several years unless I this is the only thing I focus on.  Which it will not be unless something drastic happens in my life, and then I would need to monetize heavily.

(+3)

This is easily one of my favorite IF games that I've seen! I last checked in I believe before any Tales of the Past stuff was released and when C2 was the most recent chapter, and I love C3 SO MUCH (I'm not reading Tales of the Past yet since I like reading the main story before any prequel or prologue stuff, but I'm sure it's also great!) I think it's mainly the writing and choices that make the game feel really good for me. Like the imagery included is just WOW and I reaaaallllyyyy love the pacing :]

I would like to ask, will there be more small choices in the future? I understand why it might've felt like there weren't many choices in C1-C3 since there was a lot of exposition and worldbuilding, and with how advanced the choices were and how detailed the writing is, I can see why this was more of a quality over quantity kinda thing, but there were times when it felt like there was just a biiiiiit too much wait between choices, so maybe just sprinkle in a few small choices that don't really affect anything but stats and stuff like that. Maybe. Perhaps. :] BUT I UNDERSTAND IF THAT'S TOO MUCH TO ASK FOR BECAUSE THIS GAME IS SO GOOD ALREADY I THINK EVERYTHING IS GREAT :D

(+4)

Very happy to hear all that :D I am honored at such high praise.  I will try to remember to include small choices. It is just a habit that they tend to balloon out to include so many options so I try to streamline at times :D Gotta try to control myself!

(+2)

I think I've played through this at least a hundred times now, and I'm beyond hooked on every aspect of it! So excited for more!

P.S. Do you think you'll ever end up adding more color choices to the heritage features? Like choosing a color for our draconic features, the color of our hair glow, or the color of garuda wings, for example? I'm just asking because of personal preference, though I know this can basically be supplemented with imagination.

(+2)

Hi, thank you! Very happy to hear you that :D

I did consider it at some point, but decided I already have enough complications :D I think now I know the data structures a bit more, and it would be easier. But this seems like something to do when doing coding revisions which will need to be done at some point :D

So I will consider it when I eventually do that.

(+2)

I've been following this story for a few months now and I have to say I really love it and it's quickly become one of my favorite IFs! My only complaint is that I do feel we get a bit too many pov switches. I do enjoy pov switches in moderation and when they contribute to the story, but I don't really feel like all of the ones we get do that necessarily

Hi,

Happy to hear you like the story so far! Very honored to be among your favorites :D

Perfectly valid criticism. I do perhaps overindulge in POV:s since I rather like writing them :D But as I one of the posts about C3 said, I think here, there are some problems with the pacing due to this habit :D

I think after C2 I asked a poll about povs in which majority of people were ok with them or indifferent at the very least :D But of course, many more people now. And I think that was specifically about when MC is "coping."  I found it, here

Perhaps I will do another poll at somet point :D

I would say that the best way to use POVs is to show those of the characters present with the MC and outside of those situations (and the interludes obviously) only on occasions like Lexia's POVs in The first and second chapters and Havard's at the beginning of the third, honestly the POVs seem like a good resource to me but somewhat complicated to use

About the Dryad codex entry, it mentions that they only reveal themselves to those they trust and fellow creatures of nature, what qualifies as a creature of nature?
Do Beastkin, Elves, Dragons, Kitsune, Elementals or is it solely other Dryads? If so then with the appropriate heritage features would they reveal themselves to the us?

Also I enjoyed the Sheo interlude, thank you for writing.

Thank you! Happy to hear the interlude was interesting.

I think that line was more about natural things i.e. beasts and such rather than supernatural beings.  Perhaps I should give this some more thought :D

Current thoughts:

I would say, an entire race does not qualify and there is more consideration to be had. For example, a fire elemental is probably not super welcome amidst dryads :D A rock elemental? Probably harmless.

But beastkin, elves and fey are probably more likely to see one, though not guaranteed or even close. Disregarding personal power of course.

However, I think MC with the dryad heritage could perhaps get a glimpse.  Or with some other heritage, if they seem to enjoy the forests.

Or just because they have a very nice cloak :D

If you end up starting a patreon page I would definitely support you, this newest chapter was brilliant. Can't wait for more.
