A Date with Death 2: REMNANTS is the sequel to the hit chat simulator A Date with Death!
Play as newly created Grim Reaper 0213 in an Underworld hit by revolution. Spend two weeks getting to know your new teammates - 5012, your trainer, and 0204, your fellow trainee.
Create your own custom character, from appearance to pronouns, walk around your base and meet other Grim Reapers, and flirt your way to a number of good and bad endings.
You are one of the few newly-created Reapers - a blank slate with no past, no name - assigned to Unit 29R alongside a fellow recruit and your team leader. On paper, you're expected to follow the rules, learn quickly, and guide the souls of those who have passed on.
It's only later you'll realize your true mission - to help recover what has been lost.
As you grow closer to your teammates and forge bonds among the remaining Reapers, questions begin to take root in your mind.
If you forget who you were, are you still the same person?
Is who you once were more important than who you've become?
And if memories make a person... what does that make you?
It's time to begin training, 0213!
In A Date with Death 2: REMNANTS, you control what your character looks like and how they are referred to - choose between preset pronoun sets, or input your own!
You'll be able to change your appearance, pronouns and gender at any point during the game.
Being a Grim Reaper is a team effort these days.
Fall into the role of a Grim Reaper and coordinate with your new teammates, 5012 and 0204, through text and video calls as you take on assignments and get to know the two people you're stuck with for all of eternity.
Get to know them beyond their roles (despite what 5012 would prefer...) - through chats, call, and all the fun that comes in between. Will this professional relationship become something a little more personal? Only time will tell!
With branching dialogue across every interaction, you'll have lots to replay and see.
...And the not-so-locals.
As you explore, you’ll meet a range of side characters, each with their own lives unfolding over time. From brief encounters to recurring faces, you'll get to know both brand new and returning characters!
Welcome to the R.A.D, 0213.
For the first time, you’ll be able to explore your shared common room right in the center of the Underworld.
Pass the time with games, music, and lot of other fun downtime activities… or investigate the questionable items left behind in the fridge.
Other reapers, and a few… strange residents, drift in and out of the space. Some are friendly, some are a bit weird, and some you’re not entirely sure are supposed to be there at all.
Seven days to figure them out.
Seven more to fall for one of them.
Spend your first seven days getting to know Atlas and 5012 as teammates and friends. From there, your choices lead you into one of two fully distinct romance routes - each with their own set of endings (good and bad)!
With twenty one total in-game days and fourteen days per playthrough, you'll have lots to explore.

Damn, this is so good 😭 I can't wait for the full game to come out in 2027. Didn't expect 5012 to have such a good build in the first game but the CG is crazy hot I can't. Plus, Atlas is too cute and so fun to be around (hes the cutest penguin boy please).
There are so many interesting little hints that I want to know more about!!!
1. first off is the grim reaper(forgot his number😭) we see in the liminal zone the one being put into the void??? I mean the one specifically being mentioned on 5012's list. If so that's actually crazy.
2.second, the opening animation?! there's so much info in it that I want to know more about. Like 5012's ring, like the hand-holding scene(who is that ahhhhh), and the scene of someone touching a creek?
3.third, the other side characters are so cute and fun...please there are definitely way more to this world setting and we need 10 more games on this ahhhhh
5012 is so hot, I cant even put it into words I would melt so hard

(slight spoilers idk if u mind) I think we're a different protagonist in the future here, since I assume the guy 5012 was talking to through the door in one scene is Casper, and his 'mortal lover' who helped him with the revolution thing is us in the first game. Hope this helps ^^

I was worried it was the full game already because I had to cancel my credit card just today and I'm waiting to get a new one. I was worried I wouldn't be able to pay for the game yet. Luckily, I will definitely have my new card by the time the full game releases, haha! I'm so excited to try out the demo. Your games are so peak.
Update: I have now played the demo and it is also peak. I am so excited for the kickstarter to start, as well as for the full game! This is my character (I hope it's okay to share). On a side note, one thing I noticed is that there were some issues when I played chess. It wasn't allowing me to do legal moves sometimes (eg. my knight couldn't move when it should've).

the demo was AMAZING. i have been an OG since when ADWD first came out, and i am so so happy to see that we get more reapers! and better yet? becoming a grim reaper too?!? the characters are really well drawn, and i LOVE 5012 SOOO MUCHHHHH.
I really enjoyed the demo, even if playing it on Steamdeck was a bit of a hassle. Your writers have such a talent for creating really unique and thought through characters, and I'm glad we get to see the same kind of banter we had with Casper. The only criticsm I have is, that I wish we'd be able to create a bit more masc/older looking Mc, but I know that's not really possible with this kind of art style. I'm still super excited for the Kickstarter though, see you there! :)

oh my gosh, this demo was amazing!! i usually don't comment much with this account, but i just had such an incredible time playing this demo - from the banter between the trio to the background storylines dependent on choices you make exploring the home environment, there's already so much here to enjoy in just the demo!! i can't wait to see what the full project is like; definitely keeping an eye out for the kickstarter soon!
will we get to meet Casper again in the full game? he's the one who was in 5012's window right? i miss him!!! also, assuming we are playing as same person who romanced Casper in the first game, wouldn't 5012 recognize us? or did our appearance get altered when we died? if that's the case, won't Casper also not recognize us (if we meet him)? if he does, what will he think of us romancing 5012 and Atlas??? i totally won't go insane waiting for the full game to come out...

Friends, we're a different kind of character, that's what's implied.
As this person said, this is a totally new MC. If you play Metamorphosis ending of ADWD1, this is set after that - Casper and Sunshine are together in that ending.

I loved this demo, the chemistry in this group of three is really fun. I like how there are options to flirt but it's not as immediate or intense as a lot of dating sims I've played on here, it's fun to just kind of be a friend group too and get the chance to get closer with them. Another thing I appreciate is the dialog options; I've played quite a few dating sims with gender options that still seem to make the dialog more feminine and clearly intend the mc to be the more submissive one in the relationship, so I couldn't really relate to them as much. I liked that in this game the dialog options felt like stuff I'd say as a man too and there was more agency. I can't wait to play the full game, keep up the good work!💗🏳️🌈 really was getting invested in the plot

Hi there - this is your Mac not allowing the game to run the code it needs for chess. Make sure you've moved your game to a trusted location (something like an Application folder) and it's not in your downloads folder (or still zipped!). If it still happens, you may need to try a reinstall.

I'll miss entire tiles while sweeping, make new wrinkles while I'm ironing his shirt, but give the best massages! And colour code the books on his shelves (which he'll hate bc he prolly organises them alphabetically lmfao) while adding my romance books to make the gradient better💀

the demo crashes once i end the first conversation with 0203 :( i tried changing the wasd to the others but that didn't work out and it just sends me back to the menu
If you can give some more details, we may be able to assist you! You mean once you hit the walking section, interacting/trying to move send you back? If so, I'm working on a fix for this at the moment but it's a little difficult because it only happens to a tiny number of machines. Loving the demo! However, I was hoping this version might fix my biggest (only) grievance with the original game—replaying it is incredibly tedious since everything your character says being an option you have to "pick" even if there's only one option renders the skip button pretty much useless. It would be so amazing for replayability and getting all the endings if the MC's dialogue was in a skippable textbox when there's only one option for what to say.

Hey there! You'll find an option in the settings already that lets the skip button go through choices (auto selecting one for you). I worked pretty hard getting it working, so I'd love you to try it! We won't be changing the single options not being a choice, but that makes it fast to get back through :)
