Feralpals is a story-driven, chapter-based horror game created by Polypaw, with this release being Chapter 01: Old Friends
Chapter 1 is 30 to 45 minutes in length
In an unknown year, humanity was wiped out by a pathogen traced back to their own creations: the Friendly Pals. Originally feral creatures genetically mutated and given human intelligence for mankind's own purposes, the Pals were left behind to mimic the society of their dead creators
You play as Dan , a little guy who gets a phone call from his best friend, Basil, inviting you to an old forest campsite to reunite with childhood friends. But this forest hides a dark past of what is buried inside, and is humanity truly extinct?

just gotta say this rn. WOW. THIS GAME WAS SO FUN! I LOVED IT! the context, the characters, the lore, EVERYTHING! it feels like a nice cozy game that eventually lead to terror near the end! ID LOVE TO SEE MORE LIKE THIS! KEEP IT UP!! <3

I really enjoyed this. Not a huge fan of chase scenes (because I'm not that great at them lol) but I loved the transition between 3rd person and 1st person gameplay. Here's my video on it if anyone is interested.

I had my feelings turned 180 degrees, also with the kid (Remy). I hated her at first, but then I got worried for her after Basil showed up, not being himself anymore. And you managed to do all that in a short game, so congratulations. I am hoping to see Chapter 2 with more lore about Dan's life, how he ended up in an apartment surrounded by "only families," neighbors, and him still being single. He seems not to know about how humans passed by the way, so I am assuming that he was born many generations after humans died. But anyways! Congrats again, keep doing a good job.

The game keeps crashing on me at the bridge Cut scene.
You’re probably using the “Potato” graphics preset, which maxes out the engine optimization (it’s even labeled “may bug”). Try switching it to Balanced or turning it off.
Otherwise, your device might just be struggling to run it, especially in the forest areas, which can get a bit laggy on older devices

Actually pretty fun! I really liked the worldbuilding and characters, cause a lot of mascot feels dry on those fronts.

I love the mix of tank-like/old RE controls and the first person controls. It's something I haven't seen too often and I hope the next chapter(s) play with these perspectives more.
I also hope we'll get deeper lore what exactly makes the Pals go feral and if there is a way to stop it.
Graphics wise the game looks nice, I like the low poly look of the character models a lot.
Gameplay wise I hope we'll get to do more in future chapters, instead of just walking around and running away. The game is not too punishing, checkpoints are well placed and it never felt frustrating
Writing is fun, I like the dynamic between Remy and Dan, other jokes and things are well written/placed!
Cannot wait for the next chapter!

Got to say for only being chapter 1 in the series, this is pretty damn solid so far! I cannot wait to see what chapter 2 has in store for sure. The whole idea, story, story building, character building. This is chefs kiss for sure and even though it is in a way, a mascot horror game. This is super original. Made a video on it.

Saw a gameplay from Felixtfox on YouTube and barely some minutes in I went "This looks interesting, maybe I should try it myself first"
Thankfully this is of the few games my 2015 computer can run smoothly (also tried on my 2008 Thinkpad but it lags from just the poly paw animation onward) Very nice game, the lore is really catching to me, hope to see more! Lemme know if you open a discord server one day! :D

Such a fun game - got spooky though. Well done, enjoyed playing this a lot and I am looking forward to the next chapters.
There is just so much personality and charm. And the high effort modeling work and expressions really help showcase that better than ever before.
FERALPALS is no exception, and I cannot wait for more chapters! A lot of great characters, dialogue, cute interactions, interesting world-building and some good jump scares too!

This was quite fun! I liked how it started off as kinda cute & cosy with a dark twist. I loved the first-person & third person perception changes were nice! I look forward to chapter 2! Those 2 chances in different perceptive was super intense and fun! Added to the challenge.
