That clifhanger is just cruel man lol

When Luck gave the key to Raymond, i was kinda expectimg this (Sadly, since Luck is my favorite character), but i think his relevancy in this loop is anything but over.

I have an theory that this could not be a direct sequel of Ray and Jacks loop (1s Luck/ 2nd Ray/ 3rd ? /4th Present) since there are some visible diferences.

Or there was an Loop before or after Lucks loop that happened before Rays (I still cant get Arthur getting the secret room out of luck and beeing hyper sus in Raymond 1st try when he and Lewis were hiding stuff).

Still, Lotte is still the most suspicious person, and i ll stand by that.

Great update, and waiting for the next!

It's such a jerk move to leave the cliffhanger there but it felt right at the same time

And yeah, the death flags have been dropping hard, so I guess it was hard to imagine any other outcome

I can confirm though that this loop still has a long way to go

Thanks! Hopefully I can make it in due time, I'm also excited for what's to come

So after reading this masterpiece I've noticed some typos and/or errorrs, like five or seven in total. I have no idea where to upload those so im just going to dump them here i guess (maybe should've taken screenshot of everything)

-Spoilers-

"1nd corridor", ig that was supposed to be 2 instead of 1 or st instead of nd, i don't want to remember where he lived

"between late nigh" i giggled here

Just Jack nonchalantly saying Raymond's thoughts

No idea about this one, now I'm done and don't know why I've taken screenshot of this. Might be because this was supposed to be Raymond's thought, and then someone was saying the same thing outloud? No idea so probably doesn't matter.

All of these might be intentional, cuz what do i know, I'm not the dev. I don't have exact days when these lines happened so yeah, might be hard finding them.

For context, I was so stressed throughout the entire thing, so these little mistakes were really noticable and helped with stress.  Not to hate on the project or anything. It was a nice breathe from all of dating romances on itch io. To the point where i had to pull out ai to figure out the Ceaser cipher.

Firstly, I want to thank you for pointing out the typos and errors. Unfortunately, some of them go unnoticed even when I reread the script, and working on the script alone makes it increasingly difficult to reread it and check if anything has been overlooked. I have fixed the ones that were pointed out, and they will be fixed when the next build is released.

Secondly, I'm glad you were interested, and I don't know if you saw it, but from the screenshots I noticed that you played Path D, which is more of a secondary path and has been put on hold for now, and I'm updating Path A more. The changes themselves are few. Path A is when you decide to eventually open up to Jack on day 2, and from there to the end of Path D. The changes are minor, some more playful interactions between Raymond and Jack, but what's more relevant is the conversation between the two lying in the bedroom and the final unfolding of day 7. And of course, Path A has Chapter 2 Act 1 done. If you're interested, you can even use the Chapter Select and skip to Chapter 1 Act 4 to see how the story unfolds in the most updated Path. Ideally, it would be best to play from the beginning, but again, it's more playful interactions and Raymond being friendlier with Jack in general, also some ship hints. The main change between the two paths would be more in Chapter 2, so I decided to pause Path D and focus on Path A

Oh, that was fast fix for you. That's some good knowledge of the script, also identifying Path D from a couple of screenshots, hello? And thanks for mentioning Path A and chapter 2. Originally i thought there was no difference when talking to Jack because both options seemed very rude and sounded like "fuk off i am not talking about my past" type of thing. But thanks a lot i will definitely be reading through chapter 2, and then go back to chapter 1, Path A.

Just caught up now, and gotta say, I love this game, and I love the characters. I actually can relate with Raymond a lot, which I'm sure says something about me, but I don't know what!

-Spoilers-

The loop element definitely gave me strong Higurashi/Umineko vibes, which I like. Handled differently enough that it's also fairly fresh. I also love the relationship between Ray and Jack. I wasn't expecting Jack to go full yandere for Ray, but honestly it only made me root for their happy ending more!

As for some things I've noticed, during the second loop, the statue that was potentially used to kill Zack in the first was already gone. I don't know if that was intentional, but if it is, it could lead some credence to the killer remembering things between loops.

The other is those interesting tarot cards I found lying around... Makes me curious what their significance will be in the long run. I imagine it may play more into the supernatural aspects of the mansion, perhaps. But I am eager to find out later!

I don't have any concrete theories yet... I think what's more important for me right now than finding out who the killer is would be to first have a better idea of the rules. For instance, whether someone being believed dead would be enough to count for rhyme, or if the person has to truly be physically dead. The former definitely opens up possibilities for the killer to hide among the dead, a la the Alice theory.

(+2)

When I was developing the concept for Sisyphean Mansion, I was really deep into the Umineko rabbit hole, (well, kind of still am) so there are bound to be some similarities. And I think it's funny that "Yandere!Jack" scene was originally supposed to be much more yandere (as in actually yaandere) in the early concept, but then ended up being reshaped into what actually happens

Also, I don't usually like to give any hints about the mystery, but here I feel it's more misleading because this statue thing is a coding error, I'll have to fix that later, sorry for that

And I'm glad you're following along! It's always nice to read comments about Sisyphean Mansion

I see. I figured it could be an error, so I wanted to point it out just in case! And yeah, I can definitely see the inspiration. And as a huge Umineko fan, I'm all for it. Honestly can't wait to see more, so I'll be keeping an eye out for future updates! Good luck with everything!

Spoilers 0.11 -  Found out this game just before traveling for the holidays and I've been craving to go back to my PC so I can replay some of the early game. I'm really loving how you write the characters (especially through the debates). I really loved how the loop affected the narrative. It gives higher dimension to think about the mystery and most importantly the reasons for the kills.

My theories (with spoilers) - After thinking a lot at night, I've put my tin foil hat and came with some theories and speculations. Right now the base ideas that I think of are:

  1. The theorized way to get out of the mansion by the Killers is by following the rhyme.
  2. The secret rooms probably give you something if you achieve a certain condition (I'm 80% sure that the Death room gave the gun and one of the other 2 gives the master key).
  3. There probably are more timelines that we are not aware of.

With that, my current theory is that we are currently on the fifth timeline and that Jack is the Sleep Killer and Alice and Layra being the gun duo (Layra betrayed Alice after realizing that Emily was alive), with Jack knowing one of the secret rooms. (I would write more about how I got to this conclusion, but writing on a phone is uncomfortable for me).

Now I beg from the bottom of my heart, PLEASE CONTINUE UPDATING THIS MASTERPIECE AND PROVE ME WRONG (or right, it would be a nice boost to my ego kkkkkkkkkkkkk).

(+2)

I'm glad you liked it! Honestly, writing the Debates is the part I enjoy the most and the one that makes me spend the most time thinking about how to structure the discussion and to write it

And I'm glad you like the loop element, since I imagine it won't be well received by everyone, given how much it completely shifts the perspective on the work and opens up too many possibilities to think about, especially given the amount of information available at the moment.

I love reading speculations (which, unfortunately, I have no easy way of responding to, you know)

And yes, I'm curious about your theory, and I totally understand feeling uncomfortable typing on a phone. I personally don't like it either, (if I'm already prone to typos on the keyboard, I can assure you that on the phone they are unfortunately much more common than I would like them to be).

And I have no intention of stopping, probably keeping up this pace of one build every 2-3 months depending on the size of the build (who knows, maybe in the future I'll be able to do it more easily than I do today and I'll be able to reduce that time), but I'm definitely going to continue, each day viewing this journey of development more and more as a Sisyphean task because of how long it's taking me, but still, I enjoy doing it and I'm eager to see more of the scenes I have already planned, more revelations I have planned, coming to life in the game

Spoiler 0.11 I- wow, just played the latest release and Raymond’s backstory was way worse than I expected ;-; I love our poor traumatized black kitty even more now. This update was such a nice read honestly, it’s like an early Christmas gift xD Honestly, Raymond being a killer makes me suspect that everyone in this mansion has murdered someone at some point in their life, which is their sin to atone in this mysterious place, though the circumstances are still very shrouded to us readers. I wonder what everyone else’s sin was that lead them here… Lewis being the first victim in the first iteration kinda makes me suspect him being the killer… He does have a brother who looks very similar to him, right? Mayyybeee the corpse they found was the brother? Hmmmmmmm…. nahh, he’s too precious to be the killer, right? …….Right? sweats profusely Also, that line that Jack said to Raymond, something something “my passion, my infatuation”… OwO Was that just a confession?!? I am excited where the story will go further, I’m cheering for the future of this novel! :3

(+1)

Raymond's backstory is something I find amusing as the initial plans were for it to be some sort of huge mystery, not quite as much as the major overarching questions, but something that would take longer than it did to be revealed. However, as the project took shape, it became apparent that some revelations could be made earlier, and even though it's something that's a little out of the ordinary for me, as I'm not one to write excessively tragic backstories, it's something that fits him thematically well, and I was actually eager to bring it into the story.

And although Raymond manages to be somewhat intelligent on a number of occasions, fully comprehending Jack's words is definitely not one of his strengths

Thanks for the cheers! This Act 1 was more of a foundation, the calm before the storm, so to speak, marking the initial part since the introduction of the loop. But there's still a long way to go

Hey, its nice to see you are back!
So... I would talk about the update, but i kinda couldnt play it?
When they were theorizng about the timelines, it started showing this loading error message, since i could just brush it off i progressed normal, but at some point it tried to load it and just didnt loaded and i couldnt progress... Was hard stuck in the "Now Loading..." screen.
Hope its not a big problem, i ll talk about the update once its fixed! Good luck

Oh, this didn't happened at my version, as soon as I get home I'll get it fixed and update you about it, weird, thanks for the heads up!

I dont know if when i was updating the save i messed up somehow or something like that (Since i dont have any clue why it wasnt loading on mine PC but aperently run normal on yours), if no one report any error like that i ll try to go with the chapter select with only the new build to see if it works.

Just dont expect any updated so soon since the chapter select takes me quite back.

But if u resolves would help a ton, so im kinda counting on you..

Good luck!

It was probably or a download error, that an image file ended up getting lost/corrupted, or there was a file reading incompatibility due to a space in the file name (something that is a bad habit of mine that I have to fix). Still, it's strange if it's the latter cause there are other files that have spaces in their names besides this one, so I imagine it should have caused a problem like this way before. Anyway, I changed this specific file and made a hotfix. Try downloading it again and see if the error has been resolved!

I extracted in my file to keep my save and it still didnt worked... Even without the space in the name of the file
Gonna try the chapter select with only the new build to see if works, if i dont catch up today, tomorrow i probably can give you an answer.
Hope it works

Just wanna update you that it worked! My save file was the problem for some reason, and that update was great! The message of everyone be deserving of being loved get really hard with me, and it was so well done!
But since i lost my save files, wich route is Path D ? (I should probably take notes to remeber the routes) I kinda wanna see the new stuff, but taking blind guesses sounds kinda boring..
Either way, with the new information finding a culpirit gets even harder...
Lotte still the most suspicious one, but Raymond points about Layra were really solid, so solid that kinda makes me think they are wrong (u wouldnt give me answers so easily...)
Luck still impersonates the actions that i would take so hes the goat (wainting for his route eventually...)
Trying to take guesses at the dark, i still think the killer loops, or is conscient about the loopings. It would explain most of the changes and keep track of future changes, but since the survivors were a lot different is kinda hard to point fingers for now...
And sorry about any grammar errors, im literally writing this at 3AM and im to lazy to reread my bible of a post. And thanks for the update! when i get the chance i ll play the route D new content.

Nice update! A lot of what I theorized ended up being right in the end. Lotte is definitely the most suspicious, and my question about Zack and Luck’s loops got answered. That cliffhanger was kinda evil…

I ran into a funny bug while playing. When I got to the part where I was supposed to go to Raymond’s room, I decided to explore instead. Since i  found Lewis, Arthur, and Lotte I went looking for Luck and Zack. While exploring the mansion, when I entered the infirmary, the cutscene where we met Joshua, Lotte, and Lewis triggered again but this time their sprites weren’t there, so it was like i was talking to nobody. After that, I was (kinda) sent back in time, and the game continued as if I had just passed that part. For my own peace of mind, I reseted the game, so I don’t know if it would cause any problems beyond just wasting time.

Cant wait for the next update, keep up the good work!

Ok, the bug thing was kind of funny, it was actually way more damaging than what happened to you, cause after Day 2 of Chapter 1, if you hadn't explored and failed to found Arthur while with Jack and Alice, any other time you entered the Infirmary through the Backyard or the Kitchen, it would try to trigger the last "cutscene event" and if there were none the game would just crash trying to. The same was happening with Lewis and Emily in the Warehouse, and I fixed it before, but for some reason didn't think this was happening with Arthur in the Infirmary event as well. It actually is an easy fix so thanks! Already making upload of a hotfix to this, cause you are expected to explore in this part since there is a new Tarot card to be found

I FINALLY found the time to play the new build and omg I love it. We got time to spend with Layra and I gotta say that I like her a lot now, also I did not expect the twist at the end so im very curious on what's gonna happen next. Anyways keep up the good work and don't overwork yourself !

(+1)

Thanks! I think the next build may be on the smaller side, but I'm glad I was able to pull it through the last two!

It takes a lot of time and talent to make a build this huge, so it really is alright if the next one is going to be shorter, just remember to rest every now and then , after all you're health comes first.

I can't believe that it finished when it was just getting good. Another peak update tho, and it's cool to get some character development with her, kinda like her now ngl, the aspect of the supernatural is also cool, the implications are very very interesting. Btw there are some misspellings.  Keep up the good work!

(+1)

Thanks! And I want to thank you for the misspelling warning. I went and checked and found a lot of them, especially in the first half of the update. Just read the script over again, and it may still have some of them, but I fixed most of the ones I found and made a hotfix update. I need to start reading the scripts more carefully.

(+1)

Another peak update. The title name now makes sense with the supernatural element, the implications tho are interesting, I love this so much, and I do agree that this should be more popular as per the previous comments, keep up the hard work!

(+2)

Thanks! Really! Yeah, I feel like this build finishes wrapping up the idea of the game as a whole. But seriously, thank you so much for the kind comment!

(+2)

Severly underrated, personally i had a great time playing this game, the story writting is impressive, and while art could be a lil better i honestly didn't mind much i think it has its own charm, also the game can pretty funny at times so thats bonus points. In conclusion, I HIGHLY recommend to at least give the game a try, cause the dev clearly put in so much effort and love to make this game and I find it unfair that it doesn't much recognition.

(+2)

Thank you! I'm delighted! Really! Reading your comment made my day. I've been working on Sisyphean Mansion alone, so some resources, such as the artwork, were created with care and affection, even though they are very amateurish, but I really wanted to bring this game to life, and seeing comments like this makes me happy about everything.

Spoiler 0.9

I love this update. I totally did not expect the timeloop at the end of the week, but this explains why Luck and Zack were behaving weird at the start of the game. This brings up so many more questions too and I’m just like, I WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS NEXT ARGGGGGHHHHH. xD

I can’t wait to see what exactly Luck and Zack experienced in the previous loop(s?) that explains why they are so aggressive/distrusting towards Raymond. I assume there are two different realities based on what choice we made in the beginning, that is being worried for Zack or just leaving him alone in his room (referring to his crying or angry face when Raymond holds his hand in the museum).

Lewis’ room had a photo frame describing a black lizard that looks like him, and at first I didn’t think anything much of this piece of information. When I replayed the game to unlock Path D, I noticed Alice’s dialogue mentioning her brother being friends with a certain black lizard that looks like Lewis! I was so glad to coincidentally find the connection between Alice and Lewis :D I suspect that maybe Lewis’ father cheated on his family, though I am curious what explanation you will reveal ;)

Since Raymond and Jack looped back together, I wonder if Luck and Zack will have forgotten their memories of their previous loop, or if they will somehow work together with Raymond and Jack. Though I also suspect that Raymond and Jack will face animosity from everyone for being suspicious by knowing Layra’s name…

There is so much potential how this story could turn out due to the introduction of the timelooping and I am excited to see more content of your excellent storywriting! :3

Though I wonder, will you write the other Routes (Lewis, Arthur, Luck) first before releasing Chapter 2, or will you focus finishing Jack’s Route and Paths entirely, and then afterwards start on another Route?

Anyways, I hope your VN gains more attention it deserves and wish you lots of success and a nice day! :D

I'm thrilled that you liked it! I have to say that I was wary of the looping element because it changes the story in a rather drastic way, but I'm glad it was well-received

Regarding the routes, I'm still going to continue with Chapter 2 of Jack's route before starting the others.  However, I'm going to start releasing the other routes before I complete Chapter 2. For the next build, I'm going to finish the unfinished paths from chapter 1 (C,D, and G) and see if I can release a full build of the next chapter (focusing on Path A). If I can't, I'll just release a portion of it

And reading you connect the dots makes me smile. Some things make sense now, and others will make sense later.

Really, I'm glad for the praise! Thank you!

(+2)

Just finished the newest build. This has been such a great way to feed my crippling "death game" game addiction. :3

(+1)

I'm glad you liked it! Yeah, I have somewhat the same feeling with mystery stories overall, I've recently started playing AI Somnium files and I'm looking to see other games or works of mystery in general from time to time

SPOILER

.

.

.

.

.

I already suspected some kind of time loop (reason I mentioned Ichinose Family Deadly Sins in a previous comment and the "Sisyphean" in the name kinda gives that vibe), but I didn’t expect Jack to loop with us.

I was glad that Raymond eventually understood how killing Jack would break the "Pairs" motive, it was my first thought during that scene.

And going for that those who survive the loop retain the memories, it kinda explains Lucks and Zacks connection. But if thats the case, I wanna know if previous loops would still take place or get completely rewritten (Assuming Luck survived with Zack once, would that loop still take place? Like, for Luck he just looped and doesnt remember Raymonds loop).

The only thing that kinda makes sense to me is that the killer must also loop, even after dying, which would explain a lot (information advantage and killing Zack First cause he was unstable and maybe connected some dots), and it would make the mystery harder to solve.

And my guess is that the loops only end if the lullaby happens, since thats looks like the idea the killer wants.

But it's hard to theorize in a mystery with supernatural elements.

Still, that doesnt stop me lol.

Its pretty good so far. Luck is by far the most intriguing character for me, just love the way he rationalizes everything.

Taking random guesses about the possible culprit:

Raymond is out cause i wanna follow Knox (I know that u already said you wouldnt, but at least that i think it takes some merit, since u keep refering him as the detective).

Jack is out of the way, since if my guess that the culprit wants the lullaby to take place, he would just kill Raymond in the last day and that would be it.

Lotte using the plural for herself, wich is strange, so it could be some double personality? Would be kinda stupid, but it tracks.

I Agree with Raymond, Luck was so suspicious that being him its kinda impossible to believe, the same goes for Zack.

Layra, Jason, Arthur and Emily are too genuine, they would need to be "master manipulators" (cringe title, but didnt think in anything else) for pulling so much off, so its hard to doubt them.

Lewis gave a lot of info and i kinda doubt the culprit would write a diary, so it would be to hard to be him.

So that leaves Alice, Joshua and Lotte... Yeah, no idea how that would work.

And i still have no idea how to connect any possible theory with the Code and the book, the only thing that i can guess its that this is some kind of limbo, but nothing concrete...

Looking forward to future updates!

Yeah, Sisyphean does make sense when you consider the loop factor. I did see it coming miles away, but at the same time, I'm writing the story, so it feels kind of biased for me to say that, lol

Can't really answer the things, but I'm glad to know you're open to theorizing, even if things tend to get tricky now that supernatural has an effect

And thanks! I hope you enjoy the next build as well!

whenever I open the map I can't seem to close it, same with the tarot card

(1 edit) (+1)

Oh, try moving Raymond to get out of the map. The input to close the map or any of the Tarot cards is to walk. If it doesn't work I'll check how to fix it!

Spoiler 0.8

Oh lord, this update was not what I expected. I am so sad that Emily, Arthur and Lewis died, I liked those three characters the most so far T_T let’s hope they survive in the other routes xD I find it funny how the remaining characters I trust the least (Layra, Lotte, Luck) are still alive haha

The Vinegar (hehe) Cipher was an interesting puzzle… but also new LORE!!! I pasted the text into a decoder and noticed some mistakes, like “ztsef” being repeated, which messed up the rest of the message. There are still some words that are wrong even after removing the repeated “ztsef”. The random choice of words confused me at first, but I managed to figure out the hidden message behind these words in the end! :D

“no more rooks, no more bishops, no more knights, no more queen, no mo(re king)” “it’s the pawns arc revolution”

Just… what’s going on with that mansion? Who are the chess pieces representing? What is this revolution about? What do the gods have to do with anything here? How did Emily, Arthur and Lewis die? This all comes back to what Zack warned Raymond about before his death, we are underestimating the mansion… Just what did he know?

You have piqued my curiosity once again, good job Noble Shamrock! :D

Thank you! And wow, I'm surprised and happy that you've worked it out, these codes are part of a mystery that's yet to unfold, the story is vast and there's a lot of ground to cover, I'm glad to see you following along and we'll soon be near the resolution of the first chapter of Jack's route

And yeah, after I reach a certain part of Jack Route I'll be doing the other ones, I'm still in between releasing a bit of each route each build or focusing one on one until specific parts I plan to get like Jack's route

(+1)

this is interesting, can't wait for more updates, also can't wait for Luck's route

(+1)

Thanks, and yeah... His route will take a while for me to work on since I plan on doing Jack's route until a certan point, then do Arthur's, then Lewis's and finally Luck's so it might take some time but it'll get there eventually!

Arthur reminds me way too much of myself XD

Hey, I was expecting someone to have already mentioned this, but since that isnt the case, Im going to ask myself.
For some reason, when I tried to play, it kept spamming the confirmation button (I don’t know which one, but it’s the one that opens the menu in the game), and I can’t do anything about it. I start the game, and it behaves as if Im constantly mashing the button. I removed my keyboard and the problem persisted. Do you have any idea why this would happen?

It goes like this: I open the game, and if Im not fast enough, it automatically starts a new game and skips all the dialogue. When the game starts, it just keeps opening and closing the menu.
The last version i played was the 5th one and didnt have problems at all.

Well, when I downloaded the game on my computer I didn't have this problem, so it's a mystery at the moment why it happens and strange that it happens only now and didn't happen before since there was no change in the menu in any of the updates, but, I can try to find out

Searching for problems like this online, the only forum I found is about someone having this problem because they play on a tablet and it's some incompatibility the old drivers have with Rpg maker, do you play on a laptop, desktop, tablet or anything else? Do you still have the 5th version saved or overwritten, if so, does it run normally? I'm really intrigued by this and I think it's a good idea to try to see how to solve it, which I had no idea could happen.

I think I expressed myself a bit poorly.

I use a desktop, but when I said the menu shows up as if Im button mashing, Im talking about the in game pause.

Its like the pause button is being pressed repeatedly for no reason. The game starts in the menu, then  it confirms the new game and stuff like its in auto.

I know its not my keyboard because this happens even when its disconnected, so I really have no idea what's going on.

It's the Z key or the Enter Key or the Left Mouse click being spammed as those 3 are the confirm buttons, in the "New Game/Chapter Select" it's made that if you click confirm goes directly through New Game, again, I'm lost in this as well as it does not happen when I download the game. When I search online about it in forums, most of the replies are about having a controller/gamepad on, which I don't think is the case, and about cleaning the Keyboard/Mouse, which, again, I don't think is the case, so I may be pulling the obvious here, but have you tried downloading it again and testing it?

Again, the only person I found with this same problem was in this thread: https://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/index.php?threads/everytime-i-start-the-game-the-...
It's not something inherently on the game so I don't even know how I can change it to make it work in a hotfix, what bugs me is how it worked fine before and now it's happening this.
I'll try to repost the game again, but for this, I need to check and hide the new parts I'm already working on it, I didn't even had time to check if they're still working properly and are not interfering with anything prior to them, so I'll be checking this and them re-releasing the game to see if anything changes.

Since checking it all over again to see if any bugs were made takes some time and I'm not even sure it would work in your case, I'll link it to the new build without checking, try downloading this version and see if it changes, again, it could have bugs&glitches since I didn't test it beforehand. I'll put in as "Build7ver2" in the downloads, if you could please, give me a heads up if it worked or not so I can hide it to not cause confusion I'd be grateful

Sorry for all of this, I wish I'd be able to help out more

Thanks! And sorry... The forum you posted helped me to figure out the answer. My drawing tablet was on, and for some reason, it was doing ghost clicks. I don’t know if it’s because the driver is old or something like that, but when I disconnected it, it worked normally.

Again, thanks for answering and sorry for the inconvenience

Spoiler!

This game was sooo good! I love the protagonist so far and there is such a huge mystery behind everything and everyone. Jack is such a lovely guy, I hope nothing bad happens to him xD

What's up with Zack? Why does he and Luck seem to know Raymond? What did he do to make them so aware of him? Why did he get teary-eyed when Raymond held his hand? What's up with Raymond's family? What do the numbers have to do with everything?

Also, "Presa Por Conta Do Luto De Seu Filho" and "Preso Por Abandonar Os Que Ama"....... HMMMM??? *sussy eyes*

My theory is that everyone in the mansion died in the real world and must now repent for some sin they did, but how are they all connected and why are there so many people? Is it a coincidence that all of them are from the same place, and that they all died at the same time? But then again, Zack and Luck seem to know something about this mansion, so maybe my afterlife theory is wrong...?

One mystery after another and so many questions, I just can't wait for the next update to come out! Just what an amazing work, I hope you will keep this up!  :D

Just for your information, reading your comment made my day. I've been smiling for half an hour and I'm still smiling, I'm extremely happy that you liked it! Sisyphean Mansion is a project that, as laborious as it is because it's, well, made by me, myself and I, is one that I have a great deal of affection for and I've been working on its story for years, which has changed and adapted to become the one we have today. I don't intend to abandon it in any way, and the next update should be out in the middle of March, and yes, there's still a lot of ground to cover, a lot to still be told and a lot to be resolved., it may take some time, but every mystery will be unfolded in their own time. Thank you!

It's hard to say but, yep..... again. Now it happened after first debate in prologue. Maybe I should turn language in my system to Spanish(it your native language, isn't it? Sorry if I wrong). Also, maybe you give me your work email there I can report about all bugs, because I don't want to spam "negative" comments about bugs here on itch. I apologize again for making problems(because I didn't see other comments about bugs haha.... :( Thank's for yur responding and for fixing the game promptly

Again, I'm sorry about this, I don't have all the files checked at once because there are more than 1200 image files, and checking them one by one ends up being rather tiresome, so I apologize for having to go through such an experience with the game, I ended up fixing this and another one that would happen to you later on, and I don't mind comments like that, on the contrary, I appreciate it because my goal is to try to fix as much and improve as much of the game as I can!

Oh, and just more of a curiosity, it's Portuguese, not Spanish. And in case you prefer, I do have the email sisypheanmansion@gmail.com

ok, thanks

So, me again, and again another bug. It happens then I play mini game Steal the Pile  for the first time(in prologue). I hope i added image, because it is a bit bagged. If it is not theres is an error:Failed to download: 1Option22SegundaOp%C3%A3oPrimeiroStealthePile1.rpgmvp

Sorry for bothering you, I don't touch any files, unpacking all correctly, maybe it's just my computer, idk, if you don't want to work with it I understand, sorry again, i just really like story

and yes, it softlocked me again, becaus I have infinite loading after that, and can't save too

(1 edit)

Don't worry, it's cause in my computer this doesn't happen, didn't saw this image also had an accent in the file name, I'm at work right now and will get home in probably like, 4 hours, I can get this fixed, thanks for the heads up! I'll comment again when I end up doing it!

And don't worry about bothering, as I said again, it's something I didn't even thought about it so it's better to fix as soon as I can

It's me and the habit of naming files in my native language instead of english and using accents in the words

Ok, thanks you<3

Ok, I uploaded a new version, same name, it should work now. And to keep the save files, just extract the zip file in the same folder that the other one was and click to overwrite all existing files, it should work and keep the save files. I'd love to say it will now work 100% but again, this kind of error doesn't happen in my pc so again, if something happens, I'd love to know! Thanks for this one as well!

So, i download this game today. unpack file without touching anything and i have this softlock(photo). the moment it takes is prologue, first location, first meeting wih Layra. What should I do?

Ok, replaying this version of the game I have here, this error didn't occur, I've seen a similar problem happen when I was testing android builds with the soundtrack files, this mostly occurs when the software isn't computing the file due to some incompatibility, but it was all of the soundtrack files, not a specific one like this, I guess since the other image files considering the print are working fine is just something when the download happened. Can you try downloading and extracting the file again and see if the error persists? After checking through the game program event here, it's basically the same as the other so I'm puzzled as to why this is happening. If the error continues I'll try to release an updated version changing this specific bit of the program
Also, are you playing on the computer or using an external software like Joiplay to play on the cellphone?

Also, I think I understand why this happened, after checking I realized this specific Layra's portrait had an accent in the name when I named the file, even if this error persists, it's probably because of the hardware in this case not able to read by not having the accent, I think, even though I fixed I need to check every other iteration where this specific Layra's portraits appear, change it and then it should probably work. Just gimme some time, I'm altering these right now and I'll do a heads-up when I finish and update it. Didn't even thought about it not working cause of this, lol, here works fine but I can see why this happens

Ok, there was 1 portrait of Layra, 2 of Jason, and 3 of Zack with accents on the file's name, I went ahead, took it out, revised the program events with them, and speed playthrough the game and it seemed to work fine now, my computer doesn't have a problem with the accents so maybe there might be another file that got through, if you could, please try downloading again and see if it works, anything else happening, please tell, thanks for this, it's best to fix it now than later on!

Hi. I download again and everything is fine. THANK YOU <3 now i can enjoy this unique project. Also, replying to your questions: i played on computer. windows 10 x64. I dont use any other programms to run this game.

I loved the game!
During my gameplay i came up with some 2 typos, one was in the encounter with Zack, and the other was during the prologue when Emily was searching for the documents.
But i gotta say, wasnt expecting this last scene at all, during most of the prologue i tought they were in a similar situation to the manga of Ichinose Deadly Sins, but that would not explain a lot of stuff in the chapter 1.
Either way keep up with the good work, im waiting for your next update!

First of all, I'm so glad you enjoy it! It's a bit of a time-consuming project, but I'll be posting updates as often as I can (Normally a build every 2 months)

Secondly, I really appreciate you showing me the typos, it's an easy thing to fix and it often goes unnoticed when I read and re-read. When I get home, I'll go through the typos and correct them, because if I leave it to do it later, I'll probably end up forgetting.

And, I've never read the Ichinose Family manga, but I remember it becoming popular last year. One day I do intend to read it, I have no spoilers, but I do know that there's the family amnesia and some mysterious scenarios that keeps popping up to them so I understand the connection lol

I recommend the read! Its was an amazing manga, but got cancelled, so the ending is kinda rushed

But my comparison hold no big spoilers, so dont worry about it!

If i find anything i gonna report then, was afraid it could be kinda rude the way i just blatantly said it

And im waiting for the Lewie Route, the best boy

I don't doubt that I'll end up eventually reading it, I'll only finish my journey through Clamp's works first, I've picked up several of them to read, I just finished RG Veda today, the best one so far.

And I'm glad you like Lewis! I'll say though that his route will take a while to come, I want to get to a certain point in Jack's Route before working on the others, I think things will make more sense when it arrives.

Do I need WinRar to play?

My bad, I mindlessly used WinRar as default, I added the normal Zip version

Much thanks!

Great job on the story, it really drew me in! I find the characters to be really well-developed and varied. Looking forward to the full release!

Thank you very much! I'm glad you liked it. It's going to take a while for the full release, but as time goes by I'll be posting updates

Out of curiosity, who does the character art for the game? I like the style

I did the character art, writing and programming myself. What I didn't do was the soundtrack, some of the background art and the plugins for the RpgMaker

Nice work! Do you have a gallery?

Thanks! And, not really, I started to learn how to draw in pixel art just for the sake of doing the character sprites in the game and took a long time to make and create them for the sake of me not being an artist myself. Appreciate the fact that you liked the character art though

Wanted to report a bug.  During the investigation segment of the outdoor area, you can try to leave during this bottom right exit, and the game will warn you, but unlike the other exits, it won't turn you around and spit you out...you just get stuck there and can't reach the menu.

Oh thanks! I'll get to fix that, I'll post the fixed version soon

I just got home and spotted the bug, it was something simple, I'll wait and see if I find any other bugs to release an update. I greatly appreciate reporting bugs that in the midst of everything end up going unnoticed. Thank you!

Just a suggestion, you might want to mention that the platform is Windows-only (AFAICT). There’s no OS information whatsoever here on the project page, that I can see.

I've just added it, I didn't realize I had not add it in before, thanks! In the future I plan to add more ports, however I'm struggling with Android/IOS one, hopefully I'll manage to do it

I can only imagine the undertaking a project like this entails. And this was a wonderful beginning. Will each route have it's own unique story or will there be a general overlap of how things happen between them?

I even posted it as a prototype because, as I'm doing practically everything myself, I don't want to leave any deadlines or anything like that, so thank you! Each route will be similar in many ways at first, but will evolve into its own story, as each one aims to tackle a particular aspect of the mystery, while tackling the others more superficially. And within the 4 main routes there will be small sub-routes that will have many similarities, with only a few alterations according to the choices you choose altering some scenes and dialogues.

I pray your passion burns long and steady~ I look forward to what comes next :3
