Black Omens: House of Crimson Silk is a first-person, single-player puzzle horror experience set in a fictional version of Edo-era Japan.
You play as Idate Chiyo, a junior investigator of the Tokugawa Shogunate’s Magical Arcane Division. Her first assignment leads to a secluded mansion hidden deep within the forests surrounding the coastal city of Gōtsu in Shimane Prefecture — and a once-prosperous household now abandoned.
Sightings of strange disturbances have begun to circulate throughout the countryside. The local villagers whisper of restless spirits. And the wealthy family who once lived there have vanished almost overnight.
Within the silent halls of the Hon'iden Mansion, Chiyo will encounter lingering apparitions, cursed artifacts, and fragments of a family history better left forgotten.
Escape Puzzle Horror
Scour the mansion for clues and solve escape room-inspired contraptions to unlock new areas and uncover the lingering truth hidden within this haunted place.
Paranormal Perception
As an investigator of the Magical Arcane Division, Chiyo possesses supernatural abilities which allow her to perceive and interact with forces beyond the ordinary world, amongst other tools needed to purge the curses hindering her progress.
House of Secrets
Piece together the fate of a powerful merchant family whose ambitions, and forbidden attachments have left behind a spiritual scar in their former estate.

Wow that's CREEPY! I love the atmosphere! Honestly I was so unnerved most of the time waiting for something to happen it was almost a relief when it did.
I'm excited to see what the rework of this game has to offer, dev! I'm also excited to see what on earth happened to the senior investigator in this. Like why is the junior investigator going into this alone!? Whose idea was THAT?
I have also never been so happy I learned my basic 1-10 in Japanese lol.

I liked the visuals, atmosphere, sound design! And I liked the idea of playing as like a psychic, very good idea!
The puzzles were a challenge, some took some thinking & reading the notes too for me. There was also no jumpscares, except for the end of the demo lol. I enjoyed myself playing this! I ALSO left you a review on steam!

Yes, and the download is 11 gigabytes, too large for me. There should be a demo to see if the full game is worth the download.
Chiyo was one of my favorite Asian horror games when it came out, so I was surprised it didn't take off as well as it should have. Hopefully this redo will help make this game a huge success. I have to say, this new and improved version is a lot better. I ran it back to back with the latest build of Chiyo, and this looks better and is much more optimized. Best of luck to you @NimbusGames!

Nice atmosphere, i have enjoyed the environment and the fact that building can change on a whim, a little bit of optimization and it will be a great experience.
So far I enjoyed this demo! Im looking forward to the full release. Im glad that it plays decently with medium setting on my old computer. Normally I cant run anything that used the Unreal engine lol. I will say that the font needs to be a little bit bigger. I had a hard time reading the subtitles. Lastly, I think there needs to be one button (or two used interchangeably) to be use to exit out the inventory and notes just to make it seamless.
Other than that, good job!! Im excited to learn more about Chiyo and Hon'iden Mansion.
