The Doppelganger Detection Department (D.D.D.) needs you!
There is a vacancy for the doorman position in your building and since you need the money and can't find a job you have no choice.
It's 1955 and for unknow reasons doppelganers are more common than normal, so the D.D.D. has taken action on the matter.
Your job will be to allow or deny the entry of the subjects who request entry to the building, it seems easy, but be careful, you can't overlook any detail because you could be food for doppelgangers.

So, for the ones who purchased this game when it was available, are we forced to purchase the game on Steam for the newest version?
you can download the new version here without paying again, is the sameone as the one on steam but without the steam integration, just go to downloads and click on "I already paid for this" and download the latest version, but if you want the game on steam then you have to buy it there.

Nacho Sama is literally the dev himself and this is the old version. I'm pretty sure he makes it free because people kept demanding for refund after the Steam (remake) version released, so he eventually make this one free while the Steam version still costs money. You can read the previous devlogs if you want to see what happened last year.

Hi, as they are telling you, yes, this is the first version of the game, before I released it on steam this version came out before, then I made a new version for steam that is the one called 2.0 here, as you can see that version is not free, it cost the same as the one on steam. You can also see the release date of this version to verify that this version is older than the one on steam.

helloooooo is there any way to wipe save data i did delete the game from my downloads and redownloaded it but it still has everything saved :( i would like to restart the game from scratch but ive looked through the game and cant find any way to do so.

In File Explorer go to:
C:\Users\Name\AppData\Roaming\Godot\app_userdata\That's not my neighbor
"Name" is your username.
Delete the .save data.
if it is for Mac or Linux, you need to find the equivalent address.
And about the version, I named the files in this format a.b.c.d where "a" is the main version which is compatible, "b" is for any addons like new features or game modes, "c" is for other extras like new languages or settings and "d" is for bug fixing. So the 1.2.0.2 means, for the first version of the game it has 2 addons, zero extras and 2 solutions for bugs.
So the 1.2.0.1 has more bugs than 1.2.0.2 so yes, you should download the latest one
helloooo thank you but lowk idk what to do how do i access the save data in my files because when i download the game it downloads as an application and not the whole folder thing ??? is that supposed to happen because i swear when ive downloaded it before it downloads as an entire folder and not just the app/game so im unsure how to access the game files or data ?????? idk if im just being an idiot but thank you lol but idk how to do this
I have a question. I bought the game on Steam and I don't understand the simplification of how to expel a doppelganger. If you mark their paperwork as incorrect, they just walk away, without giving you the option to press the button to call the cleaning crew. But if you directly press the red button to call the cleaning crew, the doppelganger can't get angry, which takes away some of the fun. What do you think? I think denying them access so they can get angry at me but can't run away is more fun.
I designed the steam version with the intention to make every mechanic meaningful, I noticed that a lot of times many people just want the option to deny the entry but not eliminate the neighbor so that's why I added the option, but this also creates a new problem, I didn't want to punish people for deny the entry, that's why you can get a good ending even if you deny the entry, because if we think about a little bit, it is your job to distrust and that's ok.
And for the doppels to reveal themselfs, in the first version of the game it was very easy to trigger and I want to make it not to easy to do, so that's why I did it in that way in the 2.0 version.
I know that the new version lost part of the charm but it was necessary, the first version was more like an experience than a game, all the cut content and changes where made to fit the new mechanics and systems. But you can always play the two versions whenever you like.
Hey. There's an issue on Steam version, when I quiestion doppels with "Small Faces", instead of a line, they say "APPEARANCE_SMALL_FACE". Pls fix.

I tried a lot of things to fix it, but it never got fix, this even don't happen every time, so it was very hard to knew what was causing it, so since it is not a game breaking bug I just let it be. Besides, it is kind of funny haha

Hey Nacho! I made a video on your game if you would like to check it out for issues. I personally enjoyed the game very much. The only thing that was a unnoticeably Aggravating was the delay on when the next neighbor arrives after either calling D.D.D or when letting one in to their apartments.

How do you feel about fan-games/games strongly inspired by TNMT? I know you're not the original creator of this concept, but I'm really inclined to make a fan-game following a very similar premise and gameplay -- sort of what Sprunki is to Incredibox. Same game, just with different characters and some extra bits. How much of this are you alright with? Is there anything I should keep in mind? I'm all very new to this but, as mentioned a year ago, this game really inspires me to create and I want to try my hand at this gameplay! ^_^

I was searching That's Not My Neighbor, just looking out of curiosity and I came across a Google Play app titled, "That's Not My Neighbor" published by SoulvenWorks.
Since I know you published both the steam and itch versions under the Nachosama name I wanted to either bring it to your attention or check that this app is being produced by you before supporting or paying for anything within it. Based on a response to another person I saw you say that the only official versions are available on PC, I'm betting that these developers are stealing and 1,000% profiting off of your IP.

I think developers should actually consider making an official mobile versions of the game and uploading those to markets to protect themselves from game thieves making profit on a stolen product.
The dev responded, and they said they don't plan to make a mobile version of the game, and that they have decided to let these unofficial versions to stay up because of that fact.

I downloaded the game in 2024 and just got a new computer and wanted to download the game once again. Every (WIndows) file I'm trying to download, however, doesn't respond and won't open. This includes the 2.0 version. I'm not sure how to solve that, is there any known way?

It sounds like windows is blocking the files, try to force it, run the game as admin or look in "more options" when you try to open the game.
Also, I have bad vision even with glasses. Removing the information below each person on steam and without being able to zoom in on images means I am going to have a harder time.

If the issue is that the game crashes after the tutorial then the problem is that your pc doesn't have the minimal requirements to run the game properly, in that case you can request a refund by sending an email to support@itch.io use the same email you used to bought the game and explain that the game doesn't work in your pc and you want a refund

If it is the same itch.io account then just click on download and click on "I already paid for this", from there you can access all the game versions.
Also, you can search on your email the word itch.io, it will show you all the emails with that word in it, so you can find the email easier.

I downloaded it and I opened it and it did not open. I tried like 10 times and it didn't work, it's a scam.
You need to allow windows to open it, just click on more options and on open anyways.
Edit: If it is on Mac you need to bypass apple security, right click on the game, click on open, and on open anyways.
Also, it seems like on newers versions of Mac the game won't work, I recomend people to tey the free version of the game first before buying it.
You can always request a refund, just send an email to itch.io support, using the same emial you used to biught the game. (This only works if you bought the game 90 days at most)
