Eleven months ago, the Moon was sent violently flying off course by a catastrophic explosion, depriving Earth of its steady stream of resources. Less importantly, the two maintenance workers on there when the explosion occurred have been stranded ever since.

It's not so bad, honestly. The Heart provides for everything, a practically infinite source that gives them water, food, and powers their satellite as they wait with ever dwindling hopes for rescue. At this point, Rose's biggest stressor is her blossoming relationship with her only companion-

The Heart has stopped.

The Moon Looks Beautiful Tonight: Definitive Edition is a Yuri Visual Novel about fear of the unknown. It is a story featuring sapphics, gender, and self-discovery. Inspired by PC98 games and sci-fi stories from the 90s, the re-release is a complete edit of the original story, including new graphics, an original OST, and an updated story.

Truly a fantastic masterpiece that reminds you of the early PC-98 VNs!!

This game is so wholly fantastic and covers so much in a relatively short amount of time, the writing is gorgeous- the art is too! It's definitely something I'm going to remember for a long time and I love Rose, Violet and DAISY so much!

This really was a masterpiece, thank you.

this was incredible. i'm typing this with tears in my eyes and a huge smile on my face. :) it was very meaningful for me and i can't wait to replay it someday. <3 <3

Gods, absolutely beautiful!

The visuals, the sound effects and music work so well together with the text!

Lovely experience through and through! I loved reading into all the little things!

Absolutely in love wit the art. holy moly

wow... i'm absolutely floored! i've always loved androids in media, and this just. gives me a feeling that i cannot describe. it's like being hugged after a loss. it's about taking a leap even if you're afraid. and it's about trying even if you don't know if it's the right time. and probably a bunch of other things, but i think as i sit down and process ill understand it more

also: WOW. the visuals are stunning. really reminds me of the retro sci fi aesthetics of the 90s/2000s, particularly megaman. but like, polished and with finesse. i love it

also love the daisy leitmotif being used for hope rather than Robot Horror

Wow, never expected to see this the light of day. Still a very impressive vn, and even more better than the VNCup/Jam Release. I love the new additions, and, with kind of little spoilers, really definitely added more characterization and conflict as well, and mostly complements that really ever needed from the first release. The new cgs for the added/updated story sections are really adorable. Also the new original music sounds really amazing as well.

Overall, this is really the definitive edition, and likely the version I recommend if they really love to see a beautiful moon tonight, especially with an amazing PC-98 style.

Well I made a readthrough of this, unfortunately, I am also testing a new mic, and somehow, some parts I feel like I sound exploded/muffled so I’m sorry about that.

There are plans to release the official OST on streaming services soon! We will have an announcement on this page when it is the case :]

yippee! thank you!

Taking the .ogg's straight out of the game files is also an option for now haha

i loved the original so i can't wait to play the definitive version!!! commenting now before playing because i'm excited & wanted to comment

Is there going to be a linux version? :<

(+1)

Actually, nevermind, I figured out how to make it work. At least on my installation ubuntu, I had to set the permissions for both the .sh in the main folder to be able to be executed (chmod a+x TheMoonLooksBeautifulTonightDefinitiveEdition.sh worked for me), and the same for the executable in lib/py3-linux-x86_64 (the full file path was lib/py3-linux-x86_64/TheMoonLooksBeautifulTonightDefinitiveEdition from the root folder of the game, so the command from the root folder would be chmod a+x lib/py3-linux-x86_64/TheMoonLooksBeautifulTonightDefinitiveEdition)

There will actually be a Linux version, hopefully sooner than later! Tested it out with a friend on their build but it was weird when uploading to itch, so it's just a matter of making certain that there's no mess-ups there :]

Oh, cool. Thank you! :D

I was wondering this to play on my Steam Deck. Thank you!
