Butterfly Wings is a tabletop role playing game made for exploring the momentum of action that initiates the butterfly effect. Inspired by progressive metal for Chiyoko's 2026 Genre Jam, Butterfly Wings equates the heavy guitars, complex harmony, and virtuosic musicianship across multiple genres within a given progressive metal song to building momentum in your action as a character with a conviction in a scenario that goes any way but perfectly. 

Use whatever dice you have lying around and get at least one person to play with you. Each roll uses more dice than the last, underlying the momentum of acting as a change agent and adapting to each outcome like a solo with an instrument new to the song.

Includes a scenario generation table, character sheet, gameplay and game mastering rules, and unusual themes and motifs to tie into the story.
