Made in 9 days for the LAGS Game Jam 2026 with the theme Jack of all trades, master of none.

Pegote is inspired by Guerra (war), a simple card game many of us grew up playing with a Spanish deck.

It’s a game of chance and comparison. Flip a card, higher wins. Easy to learn, easy to play anywhere. We wanted to build on that familiar foundation, adding layers, decisions, and a bit of chaos :)

Sit down. Play a card. Place a sticker.

Watch the value change and CLASH against your opponent.

A card game where every round is twisted by stickers. Starts simple and turns into chaos, as cards lose their original meaning beneath the layers.

Win rounds, earn cards, and build your deck!

But something's off. The players never leave. And the more they play... the deeper they sink.

İts so good

Fun little game, but it’s way too easy to cheese it. There should be a consequence for creating a card that’s more sticker than card.

edit: now with more cheese

second edit: lawl, I really should have looked at the comments before posting

Yeah, the game actually kinda plays itself.

Random stuff go still wins 30% of rounds. If you think about it, the only advantage your opponent has here is picking between 2 stickers rather than 1. And your deck literally evolves on its own. That's not even a joke. It removes bad cards on its own and keeps the good cards. Peak natural selection.

There need to be some sort of modifiers that you have to play around and plan for.

Very fun!

Wow that was a lot of fun! I'd love to see more content for it, like an online mode, or an encyclopedia of stickers you've collected by placing them on a card, or challenge runs!

(+4)

Amazing Game!! Hoping for an online mode maybe

(+1)

bro this is such a cool idea for a card game i wanna play this irl

(+1)

We got you bro

(+5)

Great game really addicting wish to see more 10/10 😅

Thanks for playing!!

(+3)

A short and sweet game thats surprisingly engaging and easy to learn! Can't wait to see how it evolves

(+3)

Great game! I had a lot of fun :)

One thing I noticed - the last opponent's dialogue got cut off before finishing every time. Was this on purpose or is this a bug? I played the browser/web version btw.

(+3)

This was fun! I won on my first run through, but there was a bit there where I wasn’t sure if it was gonna be over for me.

I like the chaos of the stickers, and how if you don’t think ahead enough while you’re sticking them you can run out of space and suddenly have no idea what the card is anymore, or how sometimes based on past choices all three sticker options are bad.

(+4)

Great game! Enjoyed playing it

(+2)

I like the game but it doesn't really make that much sense to me like the stickers and stuff (either that or i am just really bad a paying attention to things)

(+3)

i cannot describe how good this game is, god it was so satisfying to win, i really enjoyed it 10000000000000/10!!

(+4)

Esta buenísimo, re entretenido!

(+4)

wow! really loved playing this and visually its incredibly cool

(+5)

i'd love to see if you decide to go further with that last opponent

(maybe really lean into the horror aspect and it somehow turns out that's what the player turns into if they play too much or use too many stickers. maybe have the choice to come back if they remove stickers kind of a super hot: mind control delete scenario)

(+6)

great game! Greetings from La matanza, Argentina.

(+4)

I like the game but I thought it was frustrating that you can't see how many more cards the opponent has , and the couldn't look at my discard

(+2)

the opponent will not run out of cards

(+3)

very good game :D

(+4)

This is great. The artstyle is amazing.

Okay, fun and cool but a few big problems, one is that it needs an alt-enter full screen command so a player can quickly fill out their screen and have a clear view of everything.

Second is that while the player may take care to place stickers so as to not place over numbers, the ai does NOT care and at times I have had a sticker over the upper left number leaving me blind to the value of the card, especially if I cannot go into fullscreen to get a good view of that bottom right number besides.

Really cool idea though besides and I would love to play more!

(1 edit) (+1)

Hey thank you! If this is for the web version, you should be able to fullscreen with a blue button on the right bottom corner. Let me know if that works for you :)

(+2)

I was able to find it, needed to zoom out from %100 using my browser tools, but it did work.

(+2)

i think the idea of the stickers obscuring things is part of the concept of this game

(+1)

I liked that the opponents sticker placement and choices made the cards received from them a bit more difficult to play with

(+8)

Fun. If you make more than 1 billion points it goes into negative though.

(+4)

HOLY SHIT

(+3)

this is so fun!!

(+3)

Good game, fun card mechanics I like the sticker thing it was really fun. Good job mate!

(+3)

Very satisfying to play, thanks for a fun experience!

(+3)

Had a great time playing the game !

(+3)

I liked the game but the winning strategy was very easy to see after like 3 hands. I had a card worth over a million points against the big boss' like 40 point card lol

(+2)

jajja thanks for playing! yeah! for a fuller experience we are looking for ways of balancing things around!

(+1)

the winning strategy of playing a higher card? any naive strategy should win this

(+2)

I adore this game. I won my first time playing, and I just want to play again haha! What a wonderful idea! I love stickers and card games so this is perfect for me!

(+3)

Muy bueno cheeee!! Me encantó.

(+5)

This game was AWESOME ! Some people said the stickers block the suit, but i say that adds to the fun and chaos. I had such a fun time just praying that the carrot thing is a club. Or just praying to win in general. I loved how simple and cozy this game was.

(+5)

I can't see anything it got too clustered but still managed to win let's goooooo! Fuuun game

(+3)

I won on second try, it was very fun ! The visuals and the gameplay are both very enjoyable, you did a great job ! Seeing the spanish cards made me nostalgic of family evenings with the aunts and uncles when we would play Me queda una :)

(+3)

Really fun game but PLEASE stop making the opponent cards come to you it's really annoying as it'll ensure making cool decks is impossible

(+3)

Jjajaja we understand the sentiment! On the original game "La guerra" it works like that and we wanted to work on top of it!

For a more complete version now that the jam is over we where thinking of ways of changing how many cards you acquire! For example that after a battle you get to choose ONE of the opponents cards!

Thanks for your feedback!

(+4)

that would be much better thanks

(+5)

Fun game :)

I agree that knowing how the stickers are going to be calculated would be nice (maybe a cheat sheet at the left side of the table that you can access at any moment? it's pretty empty there). Also when you hover over your hand's cards, a bubble with the card's original suit and number would be nice -- sometimes you run out of space to put stickers in and you forget what it was at first :sob:

I really really like it though !! I'm not nearly as good as making broken combos as some comments here but I enjoyed it, haha. Buen trabajo :)

(+3)

This was a very fun little game! I will have fun testing different sticker combos!

(+1)

Thank you :)

(+5)

Short but sweet, great fun! Def some QOL things that would benefit it, maybe a clearer visualization of sticker order, but very fun as executed!

Thank you! Definitely sticker order is something that people has been asking how is it solved and we need to make it very clear in order for the game to work!

Pretty cool, here are my thoughts:

The graphics were pretty cool, simplicity always helps for game jam projects, but doesn't easily translate to quality, which is what happened here. The lore isn't really all that present in the dialogue, some more worldbuilding would have been interesting. Around the second-to-last player, the dialogue started ending as soon as the text finished appearing in the box, making it impossible to read.

The gameplay was pretty fun, I liked that the enemies choices for stickers would affect your future rewards, and them choosing second added tension over victory. Multiplication stickers are of course the best, I didn't like the x2 against one type -3 against another because they were so situational. Not being able to pick the order stickers trigger was a bit tricky, it was a bit unsatisfying that they weren't used optimally. I also didn't know how to feel about the stickers covering up the card, it got hard to tell what the value and suit was. It was never really impossible per se, and I think that that effect is intentional, but I think the mechanic would benefit by making it either more or less prevalent, either ensuring the card is always readable or that more stickers will guarantee a card's base value becomes incomprehensible.

Overall, an excellent game jam entry. Seeing the other comments, I wish my Spanish was good enough that I could write this review in it, but that's unrelated. Looking forward to future work.
