ABOUT

Floofle is an action-adventure game where you play as a lost Floofle, separated from your family and determined to find your way back. To reunite with them, you must journey to the bottom of a dangerous mountain by breaking through 30 layers. 

Along the way, you’ll race against a relentless blizzard while saving your cousins, facing deadly obstacles and fighting hostile enemies. Stay alert, push forward, and survive the harsh conditions until you finally see your family again.


GAMEPLAY

  1. Begin with the tutorial to learn the core mechanics.
  2. Start your journey down the mountain.
  3. Break through 30 layers, save your cousins along the way, and keep moving toward the bottom.
  4. Avoid obstacles, defeat enemies, collect gems, and upgrade to become stronger.
  5. Don’t let the blizzard catch up to you.
  6. Reach the bottom and reunite with your family.

    Optional: Set the difficulty in main menu settings if needed.

Programmers

Eli Heinrichs

Procedural Generation / Multiplayer Mode / Gameplay / UI

Built the procedural generation system that generates the game’s layers, tiles, walls, objects, enemies, and other gameplay elements based on the players’ position.

Developed the local multiplayer system, supporting up to four split-screen players, and implemented the full multiplayer flow from player selection to gameplay, results, and the result cutscene, including creating and animating the multiplayer UI.

Implemented major gameplay features including tiles, Ice Plant, geyser, and draft logic for several core gameplay systems, and Ice Plant particles used for gameplay feedback.

Implemented audio throughout the project.

Jangho Son

Gameplay / UI / VFX / Level Design

Responsible for the core player gameplay systems, including movement, dash, charge dash, air dash, slam, camera, animation blueprint, and player feedback.

Implemented major gameplay features such as breakable objects, Shrine upgrades, Cousin Floofle, Blizzard AI, Ice Mushrooms, Gems, Rock Enemy AI, motion capture, animation blueprint, and the difficulty system.

Created the main UI systems, including the HUD, dynamic HP bar, prompts, settings, main menu, pause menu, screen overlays for low-health and buff feedback, game over screen, and controller support for UI navigation.

Designed the tutorial level, draft main menu level, cutscenes, Sequencer flow, particles, animated on-screen text feedback, gameplay feedback systems, BGM manager, audio integration, and gameplay balancing.


Artists

Aliyah Villanueva

Character / Asset Artist / Materials / Level Lighting / UI

Designed and created the main enemy, the Rock Golem, including modeling, animation, and texturing, and created environmental assets such as the geyser, shrine, and ice plant.

Created the book featured at the beginning and end of the game, handling its modeling, animation, and texturing, and implemented it into cutscene.

Produced various materials, including crystal, gem, and the invincibility buff material. 

Refined and decorated the tutorial map and main menu by placing props, reorganizing the layout, and setting up the main lighting for the main menu, tutorial, and overall level, making these spaces more visually clear and approachable for players.

Refined the UI design to better match the game’s aesthetic, including adjustments to artwork, and font style.

Tammy Hoang

Character / Asset Artist / 2D Animation / Materials / Particles / UI

Designed and created Floofle, including modeling, texturing, and all character animations. Also developed additional assets such as Buddha Floofle, gems, and walls.

Produced 2D animations shown in the opening and ending book sequences, visually telling the story of the lost Floofle.

Built and organized the foundation for tile materials, creating world aligned materials for consistency and organized all the folders. Developed ice materials for both tiles and walls.

Created a blizzard warning particle effect by editing and adjusting an existing blizzard particle. Created UI illustrations for Floofle, including dialogue for cousin and the game over screen.

Install instructions

Download the "Floofle.zip" file and unzip the folder.  

Inside the Floofle folder, look for "Floofle.exe" and launch it to play the game.
