I like it
oh thanks! I have been working on a bigger version of the game but the gameplay doesn't share a wheel anymore and enemies just do basic attacks / moves now. haha. Definitely messed up in that regard. haha. Thanks for playing though! :)
wait why?
Well, 1 programming the ai for a shared wheel was spotty at best, and with more complex items it made it even more difficult to balance. Also i think the game is at its most fun when its more of a "rube goldberg machine" of items interacting with each other, and having potential enemy slots complicates builds I think. For example, boomerang is a much more interesting item when all slots are yours since you know it will at least hit something beneficial. Basically just a way to reduce some of the RNG. There is already the "spinning the wheel" which is a major RNG focus, so ive just been trying to reduce the amount of randomness as much as possible. Also having enemies telegraph singular attacks/moves allows you to strategize what items you want on the wheel better. Haha.
Sorry for the novel, just my thinking. Haha. Basically think slay the spire, but instead cards you get items and the whole wheel to yourself instead.
o ok
Hey Gizmo,
Loved streaming your game and you were my "Gem of the Stream"! Check it out:
Such a unique experience and a fun one at that! The polish on this is insane, the art is quirky and wonderful, so well done. It takes a little bit for things to ramp up but there are so many fun little mechanics with each new item and buff added. Maybe as a little UI thing instead of a meter for health perhaps a more traditional heart system? I found as I played I wasn't really noticing either my or the enemies health go down. Maybe it doesn't have to be hearts, perhaps a bit more of an animation when health is lost? I think you can see in the video that I am often surprised that the enemy has died. This could also be that I am too focused on watching the wheel spin haha. I'm sure there is more in there as I only got so far but more item synergies like the money printer and the reverse pedal would be awesome! Overall, the game is amazing and you should be very proud of what you've accomplished. Thanks for making this game and for letting me stream it!!
Wow thank you so much! Yeah, I would like to play with the health UI some more, maybe with some 'effects' that make it more clear a health bar has been lost or whatever. May just end up re-designing it in the end. haha. Anywho, thank you again so much for taking the time to play through it! I had a lot of fun watching the stream! :D
