[UMBRA MESSAGE // OBJECT: UNIVERSE 01]

An isolated reality with an unstable structure has been detected. The world is fragmented: kingdoms maintain their borders while the environment slowly changes.

An anomalous forest (Novi) is spreading beyond protected zones. Spatial distortions, loss of communication, and instances of unexplained lifeform behavior are being detected.

The source of these events has not been determined. Presumably, the world is responding to observation.

The communication channel is not stable yet. 

Avatar is prepared.

You have been invited to join the Umbra program as a tester-observer. Your task is to explore this world and recover data we currently lack.

Gameplay

The core gameplay consists of two parts: 

1) Preparation Phase – here you can equip items found in your adventures or sell them to buy exactly what you need for the next raid.

2) Raid Phase – choose one of five different zones. All are open from the start, but we don't recommend rushing straight to the endgame locations, especially Novi, as once you get there, you won't be able to return.

Sometimes you'll encounter characters who can tell you more about this world and give you something that can help you on your adventure, but remember that each run can lead to encounters with different characters or open up new dialogue options.

Base tutorial

In the "Equipment" tab, you can equip new (or old) equipment.

Each slot has its own specifications:

  • Helmet (1)
  • Chest armor (2)
  • Gloves (3)
  • Leggings (4)
  • Boots (5)
  • Weapon (6, 7 (Don't you dare joke))
  • Rings (8, 9, 10, 11)

On the next tab "Stats" you can increase your base stats, which affect skills, spells, and weapon damage.


In the last tab "Skills" you can learn new skills to use in raids. Currently, you can freely reset your skills, so you can try out new builds without restrictions.

Each level gives you 2 stat points and 1 skill point.


On the left side of the Equipment tab, you'll see an equipped items panel where you can equip consumables from the items section of your inventory. (A spell panel will also be added in the future.)


In the shop, you can sell or buy new gear to suit your playstyle. The shop's offers reset after the raid.


In the raid stage you will meet enemies and you need to deal with them in the best way you can.

There are several basic actions: Attack (3), Skills (4), Items (5), and Spells (6). For each of these options, you can choose which weapon (1, 2) to use to perform the selected option. Each action costs one Action Point (AP), the number of which can be seen in the lower left corner under the health and mana bars (7). When you run out of AP and have nothing else to do, you can end your turn (8). All AP will be restored at the start of your next turn. At the top, you can see the turn order in combat (9). If you want to see your most recent actions and how much damage you've dealt, you can view the combat log (10).


Some spells and items can be used with targeting, while others cannot. Each card displays various parameters; for example, a skill card displays the skill icon, cooldown, name, and description. After selecting a card with targeting, you can select the entity you want to use it on (don't worry, you can still cancel it, unlike cards without targeting).


During your explorations, you'll die, and more than once... To be prepared for future explorations , you have a journal. As you encounter new enemies and discover new items and spells, it will fill with information. Be sure to check it regularly to understand enemies' weaknesses and what items you need for your build.

Some numbers

~32/40 equipment perks and ~30/50 skills already implemented. There will be ~70 euqipment  pieces with different quality from Common -> Forbidden. Each equipment generates uniquely with random stats, perks, weight etc. We also have working consumable items system and currently we are focused on creating spell system.

Only random equipment generation creates almost infinite amount of combinations (1.269 × 10³⁹ variations to be more precise)

*The visual component is currently partially generated by AI and is temporary. Future updates include complete replacement the game's models, images, and other graphical elements with human-made ones.
