Enjoyed the game. Nice touch on card-merging for the theme
Thanks so much for playing! Glad you enjoyed it!
Super cute game! Had a ton of fun playing!
If you wanted to make it more strategic, I think adding the ability (whether as a technique or shop upgrade or just implemented from the start) to keep a few cards for the next cycle would be interesting!
I really hope you continue working on it, I think this game has a lot of potential.
p.s mangosteen are my favorite fruit. i got so excited seeing them and I cant wait to see all the other fruits you add to the game <3
Thank you so much for playing! I'm actually making something that does exactly that for the next update :D
I kept this long list of cool fruit I want to add to the game and I'm always looking for more so if you want to see any particular fruit, suggestions are always super welcome!
I'm going to develop this into a full game so stay tune for more :D
Hey Finn, love the game. The vibe is great and it's a lot of fun.
Just a heads up, the game won't launch from w/in the itch.io desktop app on macOS.
It pops up a red box over top of the unity loader that says:
> Unable to parse Build/WebGL.framework.js.br! This can happen if build compression was enabled but web server hosting the content was misconfigured to not serve the filewith HTTP Response Header "Content-Encoding: br" present. Check browser Console and Devtools Network tab to debug.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate the heads up, I'll do some digging to see if I can fix it :D
Pretty good game ! I really like the optimisation challenge
Thank you for playing! Glad you liked it :D
Why don't you get anything for completing the bucket list?
At least like a pop-up please
Full transparency here, i did not think anyone would complete everything on the bucket list in this early demo so I didn't consider adding anything afterward, big mistake on me! You live and you learn I suppose ๐ฅฒ
There will be some sort of an ending in the next update, very sorry to everyone expecting something after completing the bucket list ๐โโ๏ธ
I wasn't expecting anything exciting, but at least acknowledgement
I spent way too much time trying to optimize getting to 500k LMAO. Lavender Pear is goated. Looking forward to the full release!!
Thank you so much for playing!!
Won't install on my pixel 7... Any ideas?
My best guess is that the pixel 7 only support 64bit app so the current apk won't be compatible. I recommend playing the web version on mobile for now, I'll try to support the pixel 7 and other 64bit app only phone in the next update, really appreciate you bringing this to my attention :D
Most of the game was fun, but it had a slow start and end. I completed all the goals except for harvesting 500 crops and accumulating 500k golden leaves. Got halfway to the crops and not even 20% to the leaves. Seemed like too much of a grind with nothing extra to help maximize my time or make it interesting.
The graphics are absolutely gorgeous and everything moved very smoothly. I really loved the simple yet satisfying mechanics. I had a good time playing, but doing anything after reaching level 10 felt pointless. Good luck with any and all of your future endeavors! :D
Thank you so much for the feedback! I'm working on overhauling the gameflow, this version was more of a test to see if the visual and core mechanic works and I'm pretty happy that based on folks feedbacks, it turns out pretty well!, give me a lot of determination to figure out a good flow for the game :D
Enjoyed the game. something to play while relaxing from a long stressful day. Cannot wait for more seasons and new combos. :)
Thank you so much for playing! A lot more to come for sure :D
Very cozy!
:D :D :D
Fun little game!
Thanks for playing! I'm glad you liked it :D
Wow, this was such a cool game! Though it did get a little repetitive when I was trying to get to 500k. I think this game was really unique, and completing the quests was interesting.
Thank you so much for the feedback!
nice little game. the pond need o be change , it's boring after a couple of hours..
thanks hope you finished it :)
Thanks for playing! There'll definitely be more island and maps in the future :D
First of all, cool game. I played until I became a 'serious farmer'. Although that title is a bit confusing since my reputation was 'serious farmer', and yet I had not yet completed the checklist (which I did complete BTW. Kinda grindy).
I've also been looking at the development log, and the shop thing is certainly a great idea. Currently after the third upgrade, my money became virtual paperweights. Honestly even a shop that lets you buy criminally overpriced seeds would have been cool, just so I could easily decorate my island with cool trees, or experiment with what's the highest combo (I got Pink for best, but I really wanted to see what the two last ones were :( ).
Also, when I started getting 12 cards, I really started wishing that it were possible to automatically sort the cards based on their combo level. I generally like meta upgrades that give quality of life upgrades over percentage and addition type stuff, so a sorter or an auto combiner, stuff like that would be cool.
Also the explanation of the skills should be a bit better. Adjencency is a pretty vague concept in most people's brains. Is it 8 directions adjecency? 4? Does it cross rivers? Does it count trees on the opposite side as if it were a spherical island? Most annoying of all it seems the definition changes between the upgrades. For chaining together it seems that it is 4 directional, non-river crossing. However for variety, it is river crossing (still 4 directions tho). Now maybe it's for good reason. After all it is significantly easier to chain than get variety if they were both river-crossing. I'm sure I could invent up a few more ways why that could have reasonably been done. But the point is that it should be explained, because most people (including me) will just assume something and make stupid decisions until proven wrong. The recommend way is generally just to take a few pictures of your game, show what works and what doesn't, then shunt it into some little question mark button in a corner reserved for the curious.
Continuing on, let's speak of the difficulties I had realising the previous point. It took me quite a few tries to be able realise I could see the description of bloomed trees. I had tried a few times to see exactly what my chain bonus was, but couldn't see any description. About 20 minutes in, I accidently paused a little on the corner of a bloomed tree plot, and lo and behold, a description with the bonuses. This is... not great. The fact I need to focus on the *corner* of something generally indicates that the game is not very polished. Personally when I want to be able see different levels of info in one spot in a game, I generally like it when the scrollbar lets one change between levels of info. So, switching between no info shown, foreground tree info shown, and background tree info shown (Yeah the overlapping makes acquiring the info of some trees occasionally impossible. Not cool). This would work doubly well, since it gets kind of hard to see some plots when there are too many trees. So a scrollbar could be an easy way to switch between transparent mode, when all the trees have a significantly lowered opacity, and normal mode.
In the end, other than the final grind (Just filling the island entirely, then harvesting for 50k each time), twas an interesting time. Needs only some more time invested (I hear more of that is coming your way).
Thank you so much for the feedback, I can't tell you how much I appreciate it :D
I've been wanting to implement a auto sorter so that's definitely on the agenda for the release, I didn't consider QoL feature as an upgrade but that makes crazy good sense :D
I love the picture tutorial idea, very clean and makes so much sense, and the tree tooltip issue is yeah, that's on me :D, could have shown it when hover over the tree to harvest, that really bother me too. But that'll be fixed in the next version for sure, thank you so much for pointing it out :D
Moin, I played the Game and it is fun. I also have some ideas.
Why don't make plants, that have unique traits. Like: If this plant is harvested give a 1,1 multiplier for the rest of the round. Also a combo-system, when you harvest plants of the same. Like 1,1 multi.
I also think of a trait that gives the field you harvest the plant a permanent booster, like 1,05 multiplier or so.
LG friend from Germany
Thank you so much for playing! I really love your ideas. Actually in earlier development version, I did have a similar traits system but it was too complicated and clunky so I decided to shelf it but I always want to make it work somehow, maybe something like your suggestions would work :D
Difficult. The game is well made and cozy. Can't argue with the quality. Personally i'm very annoyed with the energy system. You kinda need to trial and error your logistic points to figure out the right amount of stamina.. also biodiversity upgrade plays against the chain together mastery..
But it lets you redistribute the points so i can't complain. Its fun and i see how this can be made even more fun. But definately needs more visual indicatorors about the previous crops.
Right now you sorta combine aimlessly. Gona wait for the contracts. But so dar pretty good.
Thank you so much for playing!
I've been working a lot on the game flow and redesign a lot of system for a new version for a while now and happy to announce the energy system have been put on the shelf, I've basically came to the same conclusion as yours after a lot of playing and thinking :D
It's a lot of experimenting trying to figure out a good system so your feedback is invaluable, I'm very much appreciate it :D
Some gameplay, some critique ;)
This is incredibly helpful! I cannot thank you enough! Really love a few ideas you brought up and I will add them to my note while expanding and looking for a balance for the gameplay :D
you should add different maps with different properties
That's definitely the plan :D
I want to have all 4 seasons map with different attributes and traits but first I want to focus on making a strong core loop first :D
The full game will have more season (hopefully all 4) so stay tune for more updates :D
you should also add custom seasons
Soo calming helped me relax with exam stress
Thank you so much for playing! Best of luck with your exam :D
nice game
Glad you liked it :D D
great relaxing game !
I'm very happy to hear that! Thank you for playing :D
I'm invested this is awesome!
Thanks for playing! I'm working on adding a lot more stuff and making this a full game so stay tune :D
very interesting game . love it
Thank you for playing! Stay tune for more :D
full game when?
and please make it free on itch I like it but im broke :(
and don't have steam account ToT
I got a lot of thing I want to add to the game so probably a while until the full game can come out but I definitely put the demo here for free as frequently as I can while I continuing working on the game.
Thank you so much for the support, I probably can't release the full game for free if all goes to plan but if you really want it just give me a dm, I'm sure I can hook you up
Thank you! it is designed so well
My only original question was "what are the leaf things for" then the game told me at the perfect time!
The game is paced so good! I would pay $40-for a full version if I could!
also please add Mac port :)
Hopefully if I have the funds in the future, definitely on my wishlist :D
Super cute!! I love the visuals and the overall gameplay! Seeing the creator's comments about having new ideas and inspiration excites me because this is one of the few games I enjoy coming back to!!
Thank you so much for the support! It really means a lot and stay tune for more! (sorry I forgot to hit the post reply button when I saw this comment a month ago, big whoops on me :D)
This is a super fun game! I think most people have pointed out any of the things I might have mentioned, but I definitely CAN say that seeing "Silver Starfruit" was interesting, and I got worried I had been ignorant of a cool Hawaiian fruit! (I used to live in Hawaii and did for a good chunk of my life). One of my favorite fruits is the Jaboticaba fruit. It is kind of similar to a mangosteen or lychee, I guess, but it grows from the base of the trunk/branches more like cauliflower does! Isn't that neat? They have a tree at the Botanical Gardens in Hawaii and so I can proudly say that I think the fruit tastes really really good! I hope to see more fruit and more things to do in the future~ = )
That is so cool! I keep a list of all the cool fruits I wanna add to the game and this is definitely going in it :D
Thank you so much for the recommendation :D :D
I love jaboticaba fruit!! I'm Aussie and on my dads farm we had a tree next to one of our water tanks and it was always awesome when dad would come back in with a bowl full of them!
Really great game, but is there something after purple tier. Plus I have a suggestion: To 100% the game or to become a real Farmer you need to get all 15 Plants. I at least had to write down everything I already had and only then could I discover which I still didn't get. Long story short, I would suggest you add a compendium of at least the base fruits or even with the combination in it. I don't know if you plan to add more plants, but if you do it could get really complecated.
Thank you so much for playing!
There are actually a total of 7 tiers, basically for something I want to do in the future :)
I love the compendium idea! The 4th tab in the journal is actuqlly reserved for it but I couldn't get it quite right yet but definitely in the pipeline for the near future :D
I really appreciate the suggestion, it helps a ton :D
I hope you enjoyed the game and stay tune for more :D
๐ Absolutly.. Is it currently even possible to go over purple which i think is the 4th tier? Because i was never able to go beyond which is why I was curious.๐ง
Yes you can totally theoretically go to the 7th tier now, right now you gotta get very lucky to get pass the 4th but I have a few mechanic in mind to break that limit that I want to develop for the future :D
I was actually lucky enough to get to the pink tier!
:D :D
What a relaxing and peaceful world! The orchard in the sky garden, the music, and the laid-back UI make me feel so calm and cozy!
The gameplay stays relaxing, but I end up playing with dollar signs in my eyes as the fruit trade prices keep inflating...
In the later part, the growth speed of the fruit trees could maybe take 5 to 10 times longer.
Planting tons of fruit trees and covering the whole island with them at the end is super fun!
Thank you so much for playing! I can't wait to watch the video :D
That was awesome -- I really wish it was a full game! I would love to play it longer, find new plants from "exploring the world" etc. Maybe different regions would be friendly to different plants, and certain plants could be hardier than others -- so there would be more strategy in the crossbreeding, as you tried to get a profitable plant that also grew well in many garden plots.
I agree with the suggestion that hovering over cards should show the plant's stats, and I found the card-merging a bit finicky at times: sometimes I merged cards by accident, other times I tried to merge cards and they missed each other. Maybe that's just because I'm using a touchpad.
Another suggestion: our "research" panel could include a family tree of different crossbreeds. I made my own in Paint.net, which was doable because there were only three parent species -- but it would get a bit overwhelming with more than that. Also, I wished quite a few times that I could rearrange the cards in my hand (to sort them by type and level).
I'll definitely be playing again as-is, though; it was very relaxing.
Thank you so much for the feedbacks! It really give me a lot of inspiration and motivation to keep develop this gamewith all the cool new idea and see where it end up :D
I'm really happy you enjoyed playing this and hopefully there will be more to come :D
Such a fun and cozy game, well polished and love the cute artstyle ^.^
Hey Finn, this game is amazing! I really loved it :D
Here's some feedback:
Well, I think that's it for starting :P
I think an upgraded version of this game could do well on commercial websites, have you considered publishing it anywhere else?
Thank you so much for the feedbacks, those are some great ideas, definitely going in the to do list :D
I would really love to develop this into a full-fledge game so right now I love seeing feedbacks like this and have people showing a real interest in seeing more of the game :D
really nice and cosy game ^w^
Thank you so much for playing! Always nice to see you :D
lol i produced the edgecase where i invested all my lemons into pollination, but have no more money to continue playing ^^
Thank you so much for playing! I gotta be honest, this came up last minute when I was testing so the only option available to me was pray :D
Hopefully I can come up with something in the future to prevent this, thank you so much for the feedback :D
Well, this looks beautiful and is *very cozy*. Great job on getting the card animation to work, that can be very tricky.
I played a bunch of this game actually, it might be my most played one so far. Though i dont think there was any strategy to it. I just drew 5 seeds, then planted them all in a clump. Nothing ever seemed to happen? which was strange.
As i write this, i can see one of your images is a gif of seeds combining together. i had NO idea that was a feature LOL.
well done, this is a good entry to the jam :) very impressive for 10 days work.
Thank you so much for playing!
My plan was that for a jam entry I want a smooth game loop where you can kinda turn your brain off and enjoy then get people feedbacks on the game to decide how to expand the design :)
Your feedback helps a ton, I really appreciate it :D :D
