The Staff of Ryuskt de Noer

Lady Dasxkha asks a bunch of inexperienced fools (the characters) to look for her daughter, who disappeared in the basement. But the basement is not a regular basement and the daughter might not be her daughter after all…

The Staff of Ryukst de Noer is a one-page funhouse funnel originally created for the 8-Bit Shadowdark Game Jam 2026, in which participants were assigned three random NES-era games. 
The assigned games:

Solstice: The Quest for the Staff of Demnos 

An isometric puzzle-platformer in which Shadax needs to gather pieces of a powerful staff to defeat an evil baron and rescue a princess. 

Battletoads

Famous for its difficulty, Battletoads is a classic platform scrolling beat 'em up, where anthropomorphic toads fight their way through varying levels to defeat the evil dark queen.

Krusty's Fun House

Based on the Simpsons franchise Krusty's Fun House is a puzzle game, in which the player controls Krusty the Clown and directs rats through maze-like levels into an extermination area.

The module contains an original 8-bit inspired soundtrack as well as a unique “continue mechanic” for gauntlets inspired by classic arcade games.
