Hour of the Rat [DEMO]

Minato Yoshizawa is an everyday office worker. She considers herself to be normal. She is just like everyone else. And there is nothing wrong with her.

But there is one person she desperately wishes would crash back into her life, despite it all: Tomika Aoyagi, her friend and old confidante.

Meanwhile, Yuki Ichinose struggles with her own demons, past and present, as she deals with office politics, her mother's illness, and strange visitors.

Their paths will intertwine, and ultimately lead to a series of confrontations that culminates towards a future none of them can predict...

This demo covers only Act 1, and the narrative focuses on the perspective of Minato. It's about ~8,800 words and will take around an hour to read through.

Content Warnings

Contains depictions of homophobia, alcoholism/a brief scene where the main character binge drinks, implications of compulsory heterosexuality. Spoilers for the story: the main character is shown experiencing a heat stroke, a brief moment of unreality and then collapses, however this is depicted in a vague manner. The story contains no graphic depictions of violence, and no explicit sexual content.
