Original 1.0 Afterword/Postmortem
When I first started making games, I included an afterword or postmortem in game that was unlockable after completing a route. Over the years, I started to not put them in my games anymore and instead started posting them as separate posts so I can include images and links.
Since the current version of the game doesn't have the original afterwords seen in 1.0, I have included it in this post in order to preserve it.

Afterwords seen in Pillars on Poppy Hills Version 1.0, written before release (February 26th, 2021)
Hello, I'm Knickknack PJ, the creator of Pillars on Poppy Hills! I drew all the art and wrote all the words and designed and mostly coded all the dooblydoos, so yeah! Thank you for playing through my very first solo visual novel! I hope you liked it! :D
I've been working on this project on and off for the past threeish years, due to, you know, life getting in the way, so it's kind of a miracle I'm able to get this thing finished!
Fun facts about Pillars on Poppy Hills: I winged most of it! I improvised the writing when I had the image of pillars covered in flowers and how The God looked and only planned stuff out when I got a few scenes in. Even the western cartoon style I drew Quin and Pyrole in was on a whim: the characters were gonna be drawn in my usual anime-esque style until I drew them in a cartoonish style and thought 'Actually this looks Cool, I'm gonna run with this!'
The problem with this manner of creating is that by the time I finished the first draft, I had no clue what the story was really about! I sat on it for a while and I almost shelved the project because I didn't feel right to put something out even I didn't quite understand. It took me a few months after finishing it when I realized what the story was trying to tell, and since then I've been pushing to get this thing done and finally publish a visual novel!
I can go forever about how I managed to create this thing from beginning concept sketches to end, but then this corner would also go on forever. I'll be releasing an artbook that goes into those details hopefully soon?
So that's it! I think! If you made it all the way to here at the bottom of the afterwords screen, then truly, from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much for taking the time to read my visual novel! I hope you look forward to prospective things I'll be making in the future~!
