v.1.1.0: Sidechain Compressor

v1.1.0

Sidechain compressor on the master bus, and a level meter to go with it.

Master compressor sidechain

Two new params in the MASTER OUT panel between Mst Gain and TapeNois. Together they turn the master compressor into a proper sidechain ducker: a chosen track triggers the compression but doesn't get compressed itself, so the kick (or whatever) plays clean while the rest of the mix pumps under it.

  • V (SC Src): 0 = off (legacy comp behaviour preserved), 1-8 = the track index whose post-fader stereo feeds the comp's detector. The selected track is also routed AROUND the compressor and re-summed at unity afterward, so the SC source itself isn't subject to the gain reduction it triggers. Phase-safe by construction (no filter ever touches the audio path of the SC source). Switchable on the fly via ! without clicks; a 5 ms cross-fade ramps the routing smoothly when V changes.
  • W (SC Filt): bipolar, h = bypass. 24 dB/oct biquad cascade on the detection signal only. Below h: low-pass sweeping 20 Hz at 0 to 4 kHz at g, so only sub / bass content triggers the duck (classic kick sidechain). Above h: high-pass sweeping 4 kHz at i to 16 kHz at z, so only highs / transients trigger (snare / hat sidechain).

Master OUT level meter

Single-row stereo level meter under the Compress param row in the MASTER OUT panel. 12-cell colour-zoned bar (green / yellow / red) with 1/8-step sub-cell precision, plus a dB readout to the right. Reads post-comp, pre-limiter: when the rightmost red cell lights up you're hitting the safety brick wall (set at -0.5 dB), so it doubles as a "comp output is about to clip" warning. Floor is -60 dB, ceiling is 0 dB.
